What's your favorite performance by a woman in the Star Wars franchise?
With the controversy around 'The Acolyte,' it's a good time to look back on all the performances in the Star Wars franchise by women. While it's hard to pick one, of course — particularly after Genevieve O'Reilly started quietly killing it in 'Andor' — my favorite performance has got to be Carrie Fisher. Yes, Fisher was far less trained and experienced than many of the other actors in the series and her performance is less layered and nuanced than those of women who have come after her. Still, without that bit of grit, that pleasant unpleasantness that she offered up (mostly by being herself) it's easy to think that the first three releases just wouldn't have landed (one could say the same of the inexperienced Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill). Who's your call — Natalie Portman? Daisy Ridley? Felicity Jones? Phoebe Waller-Bridge? Have at it!

What is your favorite movie score?
Music is such a powerful element in the overall experience of movies. A piece can blend so seamlessly into the narrative that you don't even realize the music has touched you, or it can become the main character of a scene. Which score immediately evokes passion in you and transports you somewhere else entirely? For me, Hans Zimmer's The Lion King's score will always strike an emotional chord. (Did you know he almost DIDN'T score that movie?)

What is the best David Lynch movie to watch first?
Like many people, my first experience with Lynch was watching Twin Peaks. Unfortunately, I made the foolish decision to hop right into Eraserhead immediately afterwards – and let’s just say, I was not emotionally or physically prepared (so much…bodily fluids. And what the hell is that baby made out of? Why won't he tell us? I'm losing sleep over that disgusting thing). Eraserhead may be quintessential Lynch – and it may be an awesome, disgusting, trippy journey – but for new Lynch fans, it might not be the way to go. My recommendation, like many others, would be Blue Velvet – relatively straightforward narrative that isn’t hard to follow, plus a brief taste of the nightmarish surrealism that is David Lynch. I’d also recommend for any fans – beginners or die-hard followers still waiting for the man to return to his daily weather reports – David Lynch: The Art Life, a dreamy documentary that is the closest I personally have ever gotten to understanding what the hell is inside that man’s

What is the best Dakota Johnson movie?
It's been quite a year thus far for Dakota Johnson. In just the first half of 2024 alone, she was in the superhero misfire Madame Web, the confined drama Daddio, and the previously unwatchable Am I OK?. However, looking beyond these, what is Johnson's best movie to date? One of her earliest roles is a brief appearance in The Social Network, but that doesn't count enough to be in consideration. Then she was in the Fifty Shades franchise followed by the thriller Bad Times at the El Royale as well as dramas like The Peanut Butter Falcon and Cha Cha Real Smooth. For my money, it would actually be the sinister 2018 Suspiria remake that stands at the very top of her filmmography. However, as there are many others to choose from, what do you think is her best movie?

Who is Joe Locke playing in ‘Agatha All Along’?
Everything right now is simply speculation, as Marvel — in classic secretive fashion — is being tight-lipped and only referring to him as “Teen,” but who do YOU think he’s playing? Could it be Billy Kaplan, aka Wanda’s son, aka Wiccan? Or maybe Agatha’s son from the comic books, Nicholas Scratch? Or maybe someone else entirely? Drop your theory below!

Who is the best pet in a horror movie?
Now that we've all had our hearts stolen by Frodo in A Quiet Place: Day One, I want to know who you think is the best pet in a horror movie. From Sam in I Am Legend to Jonsey in Alien, these fury little friends can make dealing with apocalyptic horrors just a little easier — and they can also be some of the hardest protagonists to lose in horror movies. So, who's your favorite?
