HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH BEN OLSEN

On the result:

“We are disappointed. We get a point and are moving forward, but we all understand that's a game we needed to win. The guys that had a lot of minutes over the week gave everything, but you could see some of the fatigue setting in during the second half. The subs came in and did a good job of bringing energy and creating some chances. The reality is that we’re not maximizing the points right now, and hopefully we can turn that around. But overall, it was another good performance.”

On Daniel Steres performance:

“Dan was great. He was really composed, and he had a great game both on the offensive side and the defensive side. It was nice to have him back, as well as a fresh body with all of these games.”

On moving forward:

“This is a lesson learning moment because we’re tired of dropping points. That’s not a happy group in the locker room after tying against a team that we should beat at home. We have a lot of veteran guys on this team who have been around the block to see some ups and downs. Nobody is hitting the alarm bells yet, but we’ve got to clean some things up.”

HOUSTON DYNAMO DEFENDER DANIEL STERES

On the result:

“The result was disappointing because we felt like we played a good game. We want to come away with some more points at home when we play a game like that. We have to take advantage of more situations. I was happy to get the assist, but I just wish we had a little bit more to say after that.”

On his assist:

“I was happy to be a part of the play and help Amine (Bassi) get his goal, and it was also good timing to score right before half. Having a 1-0 lead should have spurred us on to do a little bit more to start the second half, especially because we had a lot of possession with the chance to go forward. We're working on that part of it. To get a goal after a good sequence like we did tonight will help us moving forward.”

On what needs to be improved for the next match:

We're playing well. We just need to find the finishing touches to close out games when we are ahead, which will also help us control the rest of the tempo. Defensively too, we're doing a pretty good job, but we haven't had enough shutouts this year, so we will do a better job of that.”

HOUSTON DYNAMO DEFENDER ERIK SVIATCHENKO

On navigating a congested schedule:

“As a football player, you just want to play games. In that sense, it’s great having back-to-back in games, so we can analyze them for what we can do better. We see the improvements and dominance that we have, but we just need to get the outcome. We now have a full week to assess the last three matches to determine why we have not been able to get the points we want. We are a good group of players, and we will bounce back in L.A.”
