Steps for participating in dual enrollment courses at HACC Step 1: Students must speak with their school counselor about plans for dual enrollment prior to enrolling and submit the signed student/parent agreement form. The cost of a dual enrollment course for 2023-24 is $175.00 per credit. Most courses are 3 credits. The cost for the 2024-25 school year is pending. Step 2: Create an account and apply. Go to: www.hacc.edu → Admissions→ Start Here→ High School Student When completing the form, select "Dual Enrollment" as the program of study. Be sure to select the correct entry term. The “entry term” is the semester the HACC class starts. Fall = August-December Spring = January-May Winter = December/January Summer = May-August IMPORTANT: Within the application there is a link to an electronic signature page. The signature page indicates to HACC that the student, parent/guardian, and high school counselor agree that the student can participate in HACC's dual enrollment program. The student and parents sign the signature page when completing/submitting the application. The signature page is an important step. SHS students have the ability to participate in the HACC Academy during their Senior year. Through the HACC Academy program, students can attend the HACC: York campus for a high school internship training program. Students may apply for a program in one of the following areas: Automotive Technology, Nurse Aide, or Welding Technology. In doing so, students will take courses at HACC which align with the introduction courses for HACC's Associates in Applied Science in Automotive Technology, Nurse Aid Training, or Welding Technology Certificate programs. To participate in the HACC Academy a student must meet eligibility requirements, adhere to a specific dress code, and commit to regular daily attendance. Students must provide their own transportation to and from HACC, as classes are in the afternoon. Counselors will adjust student schedules to accommodate travel time and the class time. Once accepted and approved, students cannot drop the course. The grade earned in the course is added to the Susquehannock High School transcript for 1-3 credits. Though SHS will pay the tuition fees for students to attend HACC Academy, there may be incidental costs that the student must incur such as uniforms, boots, etc.

HACC CHS Application Procedures/Information If you have never taken a HACC CHS course, you must first apply online at HACC.edu Choose Dual Enrollment. There will be a HACC Application session planned in the high school each semester. If you have questions or concerns about the application process, please contact HACC directly at CHSandDE@hacc.edu or ask the counseling center. After you have submitted your application, please complete the Signature Page form, add your counselor's email at the end of the signature page. Your transcript will be sent to HACC by your counselor. Placement testing is required for any student taking ENGL 101, CIS 105, BIOL 121 and MGMT 201. Seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher will not need placement testing. Also, juniors/seniors that took PSAT and have a Reading score of 450 or higher or SAT with a Reading score of 480 or higher will not need placement testing.
