Irving Nature Park is an expansive coastal park spanning 600 acres, featuring a range of amenities and attractions for visitors to enjoy. There are lookout points, picnic sites with grills, and a wheelchair-accessible boardwalk that passes over salt marshes - a great spot for birdwatchers. Furthermore, the park boasts six eco-systems that have been carefully preserved and optimized for public enjoyment. Visitors can explore eight walking trails of varying lengths through the lush forest and along the water's edge.
Probably the best trail I have ever walked on. It is well maintained, have staff driving through the park for monitoring, beautiful views, and the foliage smells so good. There are gravel flatter trails to walk, as well as paths through the forest that walks along side the water. Would definitely recommend visiting here.

One of the best maintained parks in St. John and very scenic too. Main gravel road branches out into different circuits with varying lengths and difficulty levels, there's something for everyone. Big parking space at the main gate and smaller parking lots across the nature park so you can stop right next to the trail you want to hike. There are some looking points almost on every trail, overlooking the bay. Great to watch the tide turn. Bbq areas and portable toilets are across the park.

The combination of pine scented air and briny sea air is salve to the soul. This place is peaceful and quiet. I saw seven deer throughout my two hours there! Hiking trails are well kept and relatively easy. Picnic tables and benches throughout for a rest. I love how you get forest, beach, views of the sea, salt marsh, and rocky terrain all in one place. This park is a gem!

Gorgeous spot to choose your level of difficulty for a hike, enjoy nature, and even grill up some lunch for yourselves!

Absolutely gorgeous nature park, well maintained trails, plenty of outhouse toilets, beautiful family areas with BBQ grills & picnic tables. What a tremendous gift to the city Irving company has made. Wish we lived nearby to enjoy it every day!!👍👍👍

This place is such a gem. We spent about 3 hours in the park walking a couple of loops as we tackled the Squirrel and Heron trails that go entirely around the perimeter of the park. You go from being surrounded by trees and quiet to sections that just open up to beautiful views of the water. It was a cool way to take in nature, get some exercise, and get away from our phones. Also to note is how well-maintained the park is! No garbage on the ground and the bathrooms we stopped at were fine (stocked with TP and hand sanitizer). One thing that made our experience special was coming across a group that was having a small community BBQ and they invited us to join before we moved on. We obviously appreciated the offer for some snacks and drinks, but always love being able to connect with locals and talk about what it’s really like to live where we’re visiting. They were such a welcoming group and we loved meeting them!

Just a beautiful park! What a great surprise for an unexpected getaway. I drove across the border from Maine for an adventure with my daughter and I sure found one. Trails along the coast are beautiful. Lots of little stops along the way to rest and take great pictures. Many spots for an impromptu picnic and great barbecue spots. I will definitely do it again and again!!

Beautiful trails to walk/bike.Tons of birds, if you take the time to sit still and call to them, they will land on your hand!Beautiful place to go for a walk with friends and/or to be alone and ponder your thoughts.*Great place for rocks and sticks*Parking lot is AWFUL, drive SUPER slow and check your tires before leaving your vehicle after parking to make sure giant sharp rocks aren't indenting your tires.*No garbage

One of the best place in Saint John to visit. It has a beautiful view and places to park your car and do barbecue. This park also has walking trails. I would say it is a well maintained park hence lots of people using it. Overall one of the highly recommended place to visit in Saint John New Brunswick

Excellent location just outside the city offers a very welcoming first impression of the area. There are multiple areas, trails and entrances so if you want to see it all, but are somewhat short on time, it's best to plan your routes. If you plan accordingly, you can also see the rise and fall of the tides. 600 acres comprising of a children's park, beach, forests, BBQ pits and picnic tables coupled with various activities throughout the year. It's a nice break from the more industrial feel of the main city area in Saint John.

What a beautiful park! Had a really nice afternoon stroll! You can do tons of things! Bbq, bike, swim, run, job etc.All I can say is if you’ve not visited this place, then you better drive now.

A lovely walk or drive through a peacefully quiet park. There are numerous spots along the drive if you wish to pull over, park, eat, barbecue, use the washroom, or walk down to the water.Free entry so I don't see why you wouldn't want to spend a couple hours here.

Drove through the loop, stopped at all possible stops. This is a well kept nature reserve. Some of the stops had beautiful views. There are many trails. Was told that when the tide is low, seals can be seen on the rocks. Unfortunately the tide was high when we were there, did not see any seals.

All around great area to hike, bike, or drive around in! Tons of picturesque views of the ocean and nature. You could easily spend the entire day here adventuring around this peninsula. The close proximity to the city is also a huge bonus!

The park is adorned with stunning lookout points that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Its walking trails are not only easy to navigate but also offer a delightful experience as you explore the natural beauty of the area. Additionally, the park boasts excellent picnic areas, making it the perfect spot for a leisurely lunch amidst nature.During our visit, despite the overcast skies in the afternoon, the experience was nothing short of wonderful. A highlight was a surprise visit from a seal at the southern tip of the park, adding a touch of wildlife magic to our day. The views throughout the park are spectacular, ensuring that every moment spent here is one to remember. Whether you're a nature lover or simply looking for a peaceful escape, Irving Nature Park is definitely worth a visit.

Excellent place to enjoy the day. There's some beautiful lookout points, easy and fun walking trails and great areas for picnics. We were unfortunate to have a cloudy afternoon but we managed to have a seal visit on the southern point of the park. Enjoy the view!

Amazing place to bring your family, friends, and dogs. You can have a picnic here and do some hiking or bike trails.

We go every year and it does not disappoint. There is a nice and very large playground for kids with hedge mazes. Great scenic drive with multiple stops to go explore. Very well maintained and has picnic tables and BBQ's. Wear running shoes because there are rocks that you can climb for different views. Mid or high tide in my opinion are better... if you go during low tide, there will be views of mud for 50%. Nice boardwalk is there as well. There is a beach that is well maintained but fairly cold.

The Reversing Falls is a renowned natural attraction located in Saint John City. This attraction is famous for its tidal rapids on the Saint John River, which offers an excellent opportunity for whitewater kayaking enthusiasts. The observation deck also provides an ideal spot to view this spectacular phenomenon. The Bay of Fundy's high tides, among the highest in the world, can result in significant variations from high to low tide of up to 16 meters or about five-story building equivalent.
Loved it! Planned a short visit. Ended up staying over 2 hours. Enjoyed the video at the Skywalk before going to the viewing gallery. Then walked across the bridge to the gardens across the river. No matter where you stand, the view is amazing 🤩
N G — Google review
It's unfortunate that such a rare natural phenomena plays second fiddle to things like the Irving paper and pulp company. It's a very interesting event to experience, but a pretty wretched environment to experience it in. A wrong turn into the private company lot showed there's so much more that's not visible from the public locations either
Adam K — Google review
A must-see if you're in the area during high tide. Excellent views from both sides of the bridge, including a belvedere view. The site occasionally offers free guides. I would not recommend the skywalk because it is expensive and provides little value.

No other visitors were here. This is as seen in Wie is de Mol 2003 Episode 4.It is quite the natural wonder to see. It is about a 45 minute walk from the hotel district of Saint John. It's cool to just stand here and watch the water move.
Logan S — Google review
This is a must see. It’s important to take every at opportunity to learn from nature as you can. On top of that it’s pretty cool, and the view is great. The city really needs to figure out how to make it easier to navigate to the tourist facility because vehicles are consistently driving through the mill, which is unsafe..
Theresa F — Google review
It’s free if you will justgo to the viewing deck near the falls.

Reversing Falls Rapids is a Natural Wonder, also is the world’s greatest example of tidal impact upon a river.Twice each day 100 billion tons of water, a volume equal to all of the world’s rivers … enters and exits the Bay of Fundy. At this location, water levels rise as much as 9 meters or 28 feet in a tidal cycle. Reversing Falls Rapids experiences two tidal cycles daily resulting in 2 low tides and 2 high tides. Each complete cycle is roughly 12 hours and 10 minutes. Between the tidal extremes is a calm period known as “slack tide”, this condition lasts for just 20 minutes and is the only time vessels can safely pass through the gorge.Interestingly, five thousand years ago, sea level was 30 meters or 100 feet lower in this area. Native people living here at that time enjoyed an impressive waterfall!
Yen Y — Google review
A waste of time. Yes, this is a tidal river, but not with the visible force or volume many have written about, but perhaps with the spring melt-off.We visited in early May, waited for high tide and were immediately disappointed.Seems to be a bit of a tourist trap, and not worth the wait, or delay in your trip to other parts. Can't recommend.
P W — Google review
Tourist trap. Really boring views of something that is not that impressive. Party of the tour. Owner of the restaurant wouldn't let anyone just the bathroom despite having a tourist information sign on there. Seems shady. I could understand, but maybe take out the tourist sign or add out door stalls. My last favorites part of the tour
Alexander Y — Google review
Nothing to see. Just a factory with an employee parking from where you can barely see the falls. Really astonishing how the city can let it be like that..
Trii I — Google review
Reversing Falls Rapids is one of the few things to see in Saint John. Caused by the highest tides in the world in the Bay of Fundy, the river flow reverses and causes the "rapids." You can view the falls twice a day at low and high tide from the Fallsview Park viewpoint, on the Reversing Falls Bridge, or another vantage point that offers a bird's-eye view of the river gorge.
Andy N — Google review
This is a must-see when traveling in the area. It is not often that you can see a river change course, but that is exactly what happens here several times a day. At high tide, the Bay of Fundy forces the river to flow backward, then at low tide, it changes course and flows outward. This doesn't happen quickly. You will have to stick around for a while to see this.
Kenneth D — Google review
It's an awesome sight to behold. Be prepared to coordinate your timing based on the tide schedule for the best experience. St. John has so many things to do. We go up at least once a month and love it each time.
Blake S — Google review
Missed the in tide but still a great place to visit.
Karen P — Google review
We went and saw the water going over the falls the first day. There was actually a drop, hard to tell the actual height, of maybe 15 to 25 feet. Went there the next day and the water was going the other way. Went through a neighborhood to get a different view. There was a seal going with the flow. Looked like a labrador retriever out there floating along, but it would go under water for several minutes and reappear.

The Saint John City Market is a historic market that opened in 1876. It features local produce, meats, seafood, and crafts.
This is a charming local neighborhood market. It's not very big and some of the stands are not even filled. But it does have fresh produce and souvenirs that draws local as well as tourist.
Michael P — Google review
One of the oldest farmers market in Canada. Lots of history here. Love the architecture and interior space. However when I visited in October 2021, there were only a few vegetable vendors. Mostly vendors selling arts and crafts. I assume it is due to the pandemic, and business has been slower than usual and it is the end of the growing season.

This is one of the oldest city markets in Canada. I had the opportunity to visit there while on a cruise excursion. I could have spent most of the day there. It is a collage a vendors with various kinds of merchandise. There was some beautiful artwork and creative handmade crafts. I purchased some handmade items for Christmas gifts from a woman that traveled from Prince Edward Island. There is a friendly and inviting vibe in the market.

⭐A Must-Stop for Food, Souvenirs, Art, and More!⭐If you're looking to get a "taste of St. John," you'd better visit the City Market. This covered market is a short walk from King's Square, and filled with an impressive variety of food, art, clothing, and vendors. You're certain to find a unique souvenir here, and enjoy a taste of everything from fresh fruit to fresh fish. Both Lebanese and Japanese cuisine can be savored here. There are bathrooms for your convenience. The walkways can be a bit narrow during crowded times, but the hustle-and-bustle adds a excitement and energy to the experience. Don't miss it when you visit St. John!

Quite an interesting market to visit. There were a lot of vendors. This was our first time, and one can only assume pre Coronavirus this place would have been packed. There's a lot of vendors here, ranging from food, to clothes and everything in between. One of the few places I've seen with some British treats in Saint John for anyone from overseas craving a little taste of home.

Fabulous. A historic market building AND a lively working market AND fresh coffee?!? I am in!! There was a good assortment of food and local and/or touristy items available. Being a cruise ship visitor I couldn’t buy any fresh food to take back with me but I certainly wanted to. I think my favorite thing was the dulse that they had for sale!!!

A fun place with many vendors. Grab some ingredients to cook at home, or get some prepared food from several restaurant vendors to eat in the outdoor seating area. Had great fried chicken from Chicken by Felix. Bought some whimsical art from Natasha Pilotte.

Anyone visiting Saint John should be sure to visit the Saint John City Market. There is a lot to see here. You can buy articles made by local artists, pick up some fresh seafood, beef, fresh produce, etc. The architecture of the building along is worth the trip to view.Finding a parking space might take a bit of effort if you are not familiar with the area.
Kenneth D — Google review
Must have been a slow time as not all the stalls are open during the lunch hour rush. A lot of food selections of all ethnicities to choice from like deli, Korean and Lebanese. We opted for the Korean and can say not the best we’ve had as it was cafeteria style and pre-made food. The chicken and rice cakes was in a sweet and sour sauce that was just too sweet and no heat.Overall the building itself is historic itself and take the time to look up and around the building.Saving gave of this place is Uncorked! A must stop to all things NB in a glass or two.

Touristy of course, but mixed in are some truly original items. And of course, because of the historical significance, definitely worth the time to visit. Avoid the cruise ship 🚢 crowds if you can.

I have seen this place in the past and it was always busy. As for today, it looks half empty. Yes, it wasn't a weekend day. Was a little disappointing. We came here for lunch. My daughter and I had Korean while my wife had a smoke meat sandwich. Both were delicious.

St Martins Sea Caves is a picturesque location formed by the Bay of Fundy, accessible via trails during low tide. A short distance from the city lies Fundy Trail Parkway, offering a 16 km coastal drive dotted with stunning viewpoints, hiking paths, beaches and an interpretive center. Visitors can opt for guided tours or self-exploration. Rubber boots are recommended to cross a stream that leads to the water and reach the sea caves up close.
Really nice place in the morning with the tide out! Just bring rubber boots to cross a stream that leads to the water in order to get right up next to the sea caves unless you don't mind your feet getting a little wet 👍
Zoltan A — Google review
Nice beach, the low tide exposes a couple of shallow caves that are off limits to the public due the danger of falling overhead rocks. The caves are nothing fabulous but the idea of receding seawater and accessing the caves is nice. The beach is rocky and in some parts you'll need to step into small shallow streams to get to the caves so be sure to wear beach shoes. A couple decent restaurant, a souvenir shop and icecream shop are walking distance. Good fun for a day.
Z K — Google review
Wow, just absofruitly wow, highly recommend visiting on low tide to get the most out of this place. I recommend boots as even on low tide there giant puddles that might prevent you from getting access to some really cool spots. Also got to see some really things like shrimps, crabs and live clams/mussels.
Zhivago X — Google review
Nice free activity. Get there close to low tide to see the caves best. Wear water shoes or rubber boots. There is a stream you must cross and the ground around the rocks is slippery and wet. Do not dawdle or you may be caught by the ocean coming back in.
Patrick K — Google review
Definitely worth a stop.1.Make sure you wear the right shoes so you can walk on rocks.2. Wear shorts so you can walk on water.Beautiful sea and rocks. The caves are alright. Overall nothing special inside the caves but no regrets walking next to the sea, on the warm water and seeing the caves. Kids had fun playing in the water!

After years of trying to see the caves at low tide, we finally made it! Such a neat experience! We got there about a hour after low tide so our feet got a bit wet crossing over ( wearing sandles) but so worth it! Very neat to see the different layers of rock and earth! Enjoyed exploring! Plus there is little restaurant in the parking lot

Wow this is beautiful place. Totally recommend if you want to see the amazing tides of the Bay of Fundy. Great food too in the area.

Beautiful spot, ample parking if you come before 11 on the weekend, and lots of little restaurants and ice cream nearby to enjoy before/after you walk at low tide. The pebble beach was a little bit treacherous for me in slides, I would probably go with closed toe shoes next time that won’t get rocks stuck in my shoes next time.
Erin D — Google review
This is a spectacular location. We couldn't get right into the caves because there was water preventing us. Had superb seafood chowder. Just a great spot
Henry F — Google review
Fabulous biology lesson here regarding Fundy Bay tides. Great chance to walk the sea floor during low tide then come back at high tide to see the difference in water levels. Be careful of the slippery wet rocks! Free entry. Nice restaurant nearby for a drink.
Tyler D — Google review
This is something to see. If you time it right, go for high tide and stick around for low tide. It's so worth the wait. Stunning is all I can say!
Michelle B — Google review
Went to see the Caves on a cruise ship excursion that was 3 hours in length. Since a full tide change is 6 hours and all I saw was mid high to mid low exposure. When you visit the Bay of Fundy you should allocate a full tidal change to get a feel for how far and fast the tides are here. Disappointed, unable to explore caves. but it was a very cool, scenic area none the less.
G S — Google review
I guess it’s cool but my mind wasn’t blown. It’s a nice walk at low tide. Lots of parking, cute town nearby (but everything is closed in the winter).
Suzanne R — Google review
Doing a quick search online for when the low tides are made it so that we got there and were able to experience the caves right away! Very cool spot! You'll probably get your feet wet, so come prepared!
Rachel O — Google review
Went at low tide and walked way out into the bay! Had to cross a small stream of water to get to the "caves"! Boy, it was cold! I was a little disappointed as they are really not caves, but just erosion produced openings in the rock walls. They don't go very far back either and are roped off because of rocks falling down. But, it was fun to walk so far out into the bay where the water was at high tide!! Wear water shoes as you do have to walk in the water to get over to the "caves". Depending on when you go, the stream can be as low as ankle deep and then just gets higher the closer to high tide you are. Try to get there an hour before low tide so you'll have plenty of time to explore the area before the water starts coming back in!!
Rena C — Google review
A wonderful and scenic place to visit. It’s both beautiful and different at low tide and at high tide.It must be experienced at both times.Plus lots of cute shops and restaurants in the area to visit.
Arlene C — Google review
Beautiful spot and it was low tide at the time so we were able to walk so close to the caves. But watched a lady, in the cave, almost get killed by a falling piece of rock from on top of the cave. Scary experience. Will never try to get close again. Do not attempt to enter the caves if you go!
Shellers 2 — Google review
St Martin’s Sea Caves are always beautiful. At low tide you can access the caves and climb around. A free, beautiful place to explore. The Caves restaurant is amazing afterward!

It's a really good place to see the sea caves and watch high tides. There are few restaurants by the beach to eat and enjoy the view.

Beautiful mid February day. Very quiet only one other explorer. Nothing open. Make sure you don't require a washroom.
Paul S — Google review
Short drive from Saint John along a scenic route - well worth it! As with any location along the Bay of Fundy, make sure to check the tide schedule before arriving - you'd want to be there at low tide and stay a little longer to see the tides come in. Fascinating.Take a stroll along the exposed shore, search for green crabs and baby shrimp in the shallow pools left by the retreating water! The cave formations are very impressive. To get there from the rocky beach, you'll cross a fresh water stream which is exposed at low tide (it can get more than ankle deep) - bring a change of shoes in case.Plenty of parking, and a couple of great restaurants in case you get hungry.
SAC — Google review
We rented a car instead so we didn't have the tour guides looming over us the whole time. They were being shouted down from exploring while we got our shoes wet exploring the caves as the tide came in
The S — Google review
Be prepared to walk on uneven rocks and through water if you want to get closer (definitely worth it!). Cute shop and ice cream place up the street and delicious lobster roll a little further (bright and colourful, can't miss it)

Great place to visit during the world's largest tides. Two huge caves make perfect tourist attractions for everyone. Kids to adults.Situated near 2 famous restaurants. You can park free of charge. And a small walk on the beach during low tide time. Or try kayaking when high tide hits.Make sure to wear boots or water shoes even at low tide. You have to cross a small creek to visit inside caves. Can be muddy. But it looks amazing.Support saint Martin's local business while visiting.

The St. Martin’s sea caves ended up being a highlight in our east coast trip! The restaurant along the shore had some of the best seafood chowder we had, and you can’t beat the view. Super cool.
Sarah F — Google review
The sea caves are definitely worth checking out. Make sure to plan for low tide to be able to walk around the sea floor, and bring sturdy shoes! No restrooms near except for in the restaurant, but check the hours because if you are there when they are closed you may have to duck behind a rock in a tide pool....

Nature & Parks
Fundy National Park of Canada is a world-renowned high-tide park located in New Brunswick. The park experiences the highest tides in the world and features pristine forests, deluxe Brunswick campgrounds, and a tinge of Atlantic Canadian culture.
Visited the park in 2016 summertime. The hiking trail is nice with lots of trees, and close to lakes. The view of sea is absolutely beautiful under sunshine. My dog JJ enjoy it!

This is must visit site. Beautiful park taking in coast and forest. Good visitor centre and plenty of parking and toilets. Short easy trails right through to wilderness trecking. Lots of lakes. For eating go just out of the park to the small fishing port of Alma.

Amazing hikes and trails, as well as appropriate facilities in the campgrounds. The tides are high and beach exploration at low tide is a must at point Wolfe. Big spruce trees and right beside Alma, a cute little tourist area. The appeal is the undeveloped, low population factor.

Beautiful and peaceful national park. Learn about natural animals and plants. Or, go for a walk in the woods, they have all levels from easy to difficult trails.

Everything about Fundy is special to me. Been going there camping my whole life in NB and it's my favourite spot here in the province, and now we take our kids to start learning to love it too. If you want that special time outdoors with your family Fundy has it all, hikes, ocean, camping, parks, and all of it is focused on nature and appreciation for the outdoors. Clean well maintained federal park, services aplenty and some of the best hiking in the Atlantic provinces.

Fundy NP was an amazing attraction. The visitors center and gift shop were amazing. There were many overlooks with amazing views. We stayed in the oTentiks and they were great. They had great space and amazing mattresses. It was very cozy as well. We did some trails and we were not dissapointed.

Beautiful park with lots of things to do. Great trails with amazing views. I recommend you to see Dickson Falls and Shiphaven trails, Point Wolfe Beach

Such a varied park. Waterfalls, beaches, forests, and massive tides. The red chairs are perfect for chilling and instagramming. There are plenty of trails to enjoy quiet walks, and there are myriad places to just sit and enjoy nature. Lovely place for a visit.

Fundy Park is a favorite place of mine for hikes, beautiful views and enjoying nature. I did the Third Vault Falls trail, about 7.5 km round trip. Hiking to the falls is relatively easy, all downhill with the last 800 m rather steep. Heading back is a lot more tough, especially the first 800 m! I visited in May so the water levels were high and had to be careful crossing the streams in a few spots.A good hiking sneaker is all you need, preferably water proof. Bring some water and a protein bar for the break at the falls. I saw a lot of folks with walking sticks, and a few families as well.Happened to be low tide when I got back to Alma, so enjoyed a stroll on the beach too.A must see!

Awesome lookouts and a well defined trail. Lots of spots to look out over the water and a great waterfall too

Dickson falls is an extraordinary gem! Wolfe point beach is absolutely stunning. The water fall is pure and vibrant, the children and I adored every min of it! Grateful for these memories

Amazed at the size of the park. It was so beautiful and huge. The look off was so high that my friends and I saw the top of a cloud, and the water in the bay of Fundy was unbelievably warm. There were so many cool rocks, and the waterfall area was super cool.

Well worth the extra few hours of driving to get here. Loved going down to Point Wolfe and seeing the covered bridge. The visitors center is also very clean and there are plenty of scenic pull-offs and short trails along the main road.

Fundy National Park is a remarkable destination that showcases the beauty of Canada's natural landscapes. Nestled along the Bay of Fundy, this park offers a unique experience with its fascinating tidal phenomenon. The water levels here rise and fall dramatically, creating an ever-changing coastal environment that is both captivating and awe-inspiring.One of the highlights of visiting Fundy National Park is witnessing the dramatic tidal changes firsthand. The sight of the water level rising and falling is truly mesmerizing, and it offers a glimpse into the powerful forces of nature at work. This tidal activity also creates a dynamic ecosystem, supporting a diverse range of plant and animal life.Aside from the tidal phenomenon, Fundy National Park boasts stunning scenery and a variety of outdoor activities. Visitors can explore the park's numerous hiking trails, which meander through lush forests, along rugged coastlines, and past picturesque waterfalls. The park is also home to a number of beautiful beaches, perfect for relaxing or taking a refreshing dip in the ocean.Overall, Fundy National Park is a wonderful place to visit for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Its unique tidal phenomenon, stunning scenery, and diverse wildlife make it a must-see destination in Canada.

We were going to drive from Quebec to PEI with no stops in New Brunswick. We ended up staying in this park for 15 days and still felt like we needed more time! Unreal hikes without the crowds you get in other places. Campgrounds get VERY busy and loud but it is a great place to vacation. The Salmon River hike is great, and quiet. Waterfall hikes and hikes along Fundy Bay are also amazing.

Lots of people have already posted pictures of the beautiful sceneries. I just want to recommend the Cookhouse. They are the savior of our hungry stomaches when we didn't bring our lunch. The delicious sandwiched are hand made by their staff with fresh ingredients at reasonable prices. The chocolate cookies are so yummy that my kids gobbled a dozen a flash. The staff are so nice and friendly. If you're hungry, it's a great place to go!

This was my first visit to the park. The National Park is located within a short walk to the quaint town of Alma which has restaurants, a micro brewery and the famous Kelly's Bake Shop and shops too. There are an abundance of hiking trails where you can explore the coastline and ocean floor, or hike in the woods and swim in a waterfall. This is a magical place and I will be back soon!

So worth the drive and admission cost. Would love to go again someday, I feel like there is more to take in! But we got the highlights. As beautiful as the cape breton highlands.

Such a beautiful park to visit. There is a small entrance fee but it's not too much. Lots of trails to choose from. I did Mathews head trail. Very senic and lots to do. Make sure to stop at the visitor center to use the washroom as the other washroom is a little far away.

Probably one of the coolest parks I've been too. Really nice during fall.I completes Mathews head trail first. Lots of mud and exposed roots. Gotta be careful you don't hit a tree root and roll your ankle. There is a collection of walking sticks at the start of the trail. I recommend taking one (and returning it) for use during the uphill parts.

An absolute serene experience. The trees, moss and vegetation and then the ever changing view, based on level of tide.Spectacular.

Outdoor Activities
Magnetic Hill Zoo, situated approximately 15 minutes away from Moncton city, is a vast wildlife park that houses over 400 domestic and exotic animals. It also boasts a towering playground, barnyard, and pony rides for visitors to enjoy. The zoo is the largest of its kind in Atlantic Canada and was named fourth on Canada's top ten zoos list in 2008.
Our first date was at the Magnetic Hill Zoo and we make an annual visit on each NYE. This year was one of the better visits for sure as tons of new lights and even the barn lights were sync'd to the music. It makes a perfect date location and so much fun to see all the lights!
Joel G — Google review
We go to the Wild Lights display annually and it is always a magical time for the whole family. Our daughter (8) and her best friend have a blast. This year was a significant improvement from last - more lights, better maintained (last year a lot were out), and we loved the musical light display at the barn area. We were also glad to see some animals were NOT out - specifically last year the panther was out and was visibly distressed being directly across from a loud music and moving light display. We also stop for a Beaver Tail - and was pleased to see the dining area well spaced out and sanitizing wipes available to clean tables. However the lines we congested without adequate space for distancing. Also noticed a lot of dropped masks and some refuse in the walkways.Wins - Light displays, affordability, playground, food and drink options, clean bathrooms, clear marking for walking and directions, and full evening of enjoyment.

This was our second visit with our 2 small children. It's a nice easy morning at the zoo. It's a smaller zoo but has a variety of animals. Most animals are awake and active in the morning but reached the lion by noon and they were sleeping. The park is clean and well organized. Some sections are a work in progress. It would be great to see more spaces filled. The animals have a nice natural space and are well cared for. We had a surprise presentation when we arrived at the otters. The presentation was informative and entertaining. We had our lunch at the kids park which is suitable for all ages. Ended the day at the magnetic hill which was a fun experience.

It's been years since I've been to the zoo but decided to take my kids here for an afternoon. We went in October so there were some cute pumpkin/photo ops and some interesting exhibits and enclosures. The petting zoo was fun to feed the deer and goats as well and I'm so happy they finally have it fenced in rather than letting all the animals roam free like before. All that being said, the prices here were insane. 3 adults and 2 children for $64 and to top it off, they don't even provide you a map of the grounds. We were asked if we wanted to buy a map to help with "conservation". We exited through the gift shop and the prices there were equally as wild (excuse the pun). I was also a bit disappointed none of the food vendors were opened but perhaps because it's the off-season it wasn't available. Overall it was a fun afternoon for the kids but nowhere we'll be back to anytime soon due to the cost.

Perfect place to spend the day with kids. Lots to see as well as interactive experiences. Book ahead to avoid the line. Have loonies on hand for the feed stations. Kids can also do horseback riding for 7.00.

It was really fun visiting this place. We went early morning just after breakfast. It was really refreshing after watching all those animals.
Amandeep K — Google review
Delightful experience! The zoo is well-organized and offers a wide variety of animals, from local wildlife to exotic species. The layout of the zoo makes it easy to navigate, with clear signage and informative displays that offer interesting facts about the animals. The zoo also has excellent facilities, including clean restrooms, a gift shop, and several spots to grab a snack or meal. There are plenty of shaded areas and benches, making it a comfortable place to spend a few hours exploring. The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is that some sections of the zoo could use a bit of updating, few places were really very stinky. However, overall, the experience was fantastic and enjoyable for both adults and kids.

Love this zoo. I've gone a couple times now with different age groups and everyone seems to enjoy thier visit. The staff are friendly, the amenities are clean and the animals are usually moving around which makes the experience even better .

This place is very well taken care of. The kids always love the huge park it’s a great spot for them to burn off some energy in the middle of our venture through the park. The animals appear to be well taken care of with reasonably sized enclosures. Come down from Truro every year. Can’t wait to go back.
Victoria M — Google review
It was interesting that the Magnetic Hill has a zoo. The price was quite surprisingly cheap ($9 for adults) and even cheaper for kids. We came early May during off season and there was no waiting time. The animal selection is just ok compared to other zoo I've been to, but it was still fun. The zoo was quite clean and well-maintained. It takes about an hour to an hour and half for us to see everything. The otters and goats were particularly cute.

A lovely zoo nestled in nature. Staff is happy to answer any questions. The animals were very active that day so my daughter was able to get some nice close-up shots.

This was our first visit here. was very pleased. prices are good.ànd lots of different animals to look at.with there were more monkeysbas they are my favorite. and we went fist thing in the morning which was great for crowd wise but I think they animals would be more active later in the day. they were pretty lazy in the morning beside the otters.also would be nice it the feeding times were posted somewhere for us to see.the gift shops were very nice lots to choose from.also don't forget to bring some change for the couple of spot you can feed a few of the different animals. they also do pony rides for kids 12 and under inthink it was $7.00

Excellent zoo! Put aside approximately 3 hours to walk this zoo of well cared for animals and knowledgeable staff! Be sure to ask to see Matilda; an 18-foot octopus that is only shown to those who ask to see her.

Awesome spot to spend a couple of hours. Reasonably priced and amazing animals and the zoo is well laid out and easy to follow. I advise going early cause the animals tend to sleep and be lazy in the afternoons in the heat. Lots of amenities like bathrooms and playground for kids and a nice big area to get food and eat inside.. it's wheelchair accessible and you can get wheelchairs there for a small fee.

Great zoo, didn’t feel too crowded but we also went on a very hot weekday. They have a little food area in the middle with a large playground which was great for kids of all ages. I didn’t see any water fountains so we did have to buy water as it was a very hot day. Wish they had picnic tables in the parking lot or entrance as we came from away and made it a day trip, but didn’t feel it was set up very well for traveling families. Also purchase the tickets ahead of time as they charge an additional 5% at the door.

This was a pretty good zoo, Wait times are minimal. It is not that expensive to get in. Parking was easy to find. It's not too big and not too small of a zoo. There were two animals that looked pretty Haggard, A reindeer and a deer. Maybe it's just the time of year and they're trying to shed out to their winter coat, however, the reindeer had very labored breathing. Maybe it was just because it's hot?One of the gibbons was also swinging around using only one hand.. this seems odd to me, but maybe it's just a habit that this particular Gibbon has picked up.Food options are great (however, incredibly expensive) And there's a great big jungle gym that sometimes I think the kids had the most fun on. I would definitely come back in the future. The enclosures all seemed appropriate for sizes for each animal. Some definitely seem a little more lively than others lol. Also don't get too close to the Jaguar, I witnessed the male spraying ..

This zoo has lots of cool animals! There are lions, a tiger named Amur, monkeys, cows, ostriches, otters, and even pony rides. It's fun for everyone because you can see big and small animals and even ride a pony.

Kids loved their experience at the zoo. There was a very nice variety of animals to be seen.Dissappinted we did not get a paper map as we had some trouble finding the exit (the trees were hiding the sign)Suggestion: add feeding times to the map. My kids would have loved to see that!!!

During the winter the zoo has a beautiful display of lights. Definitely worth taking that walk. You get to see some animals and you can enjoy a hot cup of cocoa and stay warm by a fireplace before continuing the walk and at the end you can stop at the souvenir store. lots of variety in items.

One hour fun for kids to roam inside watching animals seemed to be tired always. We see few play areas for kids and here and there bottled can vending machines and shops with snacks and drinks. We missed the water splash and dry games within the same area, soon next time! One day trip will be more fun ❤️

It was ok, I visited zoo where animals seemed more happy, had a better place to evolve, more space. The pumas just walked along the same path, so did the wolf, left me a bit sad. It make me think of the prisoner who walk the same path every day. I think it's the fence, there's too much of it. The Halloween decorations was top notches.

Although we only had a chance to view the Africa area, we were impressed with the animals and the facilities. The parking was ok, we were lucky to find a spot around noontime. And there was a long line at the gift shop. And some of the drink dispensers weren't working. But overall, still a great trip.

I recently visited this zoo, and I was thoroughly impressed by the wide variety of animals they have on display. From majestic lions to playful otters and everything in between, it's a diverse collection that caters to all animal enthusiasts. What stood out even more was the impeccable cleanliness and well-maintained enclosures. The animals appeared healthy and content. The zoo's commitment to conservation and education was evident in their informative exhibits and interactive programs. It's a perfect family-friendly destination that provides a memorable and educational experience for visitors of all ages.Went back again after the winter. I might just keep coming back.

Awesome first time adventure with my son. We will return!!We both thought the service in the Pub was lacking. It was slow to get seated, even though 1/3 of the seating was empty. Our table wasn't even cleaned off when we're seated. When we saw the menu and the pricing we opted for fast food when we left.

Buffet price has gone up significantly vs a few years ago. Current members price was $24 vs $15 last time I went. Selection was also a bit lower than previously as well. Service was excellent (much better than previous visit) . Overall I would still recommend it.

Pat, my lovely wife and I, live not far from this fabulous casino. We first visited this establishment just after the height of COVID back in 2021. Restrictions were still in place. Gambling tables were not open. Buffet was still closed down and attendance was low. Shows were still not taking place. Some time later, Pat and I have been delighted to have attended one of the first showings, since COVID restrictions, in their large stage area (Buddy Holly tribute). Seats were not packed since many people were still playing it safe and staying home. The shows venue and performance was fantastic. We've both enjoyed a few meals in the casino's small restaurant within the casino's main floor area next to the many gambling machines. We have also been to their large buffet area for at least one of each of the afternoons they are open. Each night open there is a different special and selection (repeats every week). We strongly recommend obtaining their membership card, if of age, for meal savings at every visit (cost nothing).Be careful, it's very easy to gain weight at their buffet. So many items to choose from and we've yet to find something we didn't like. Meals are delicious and I always have trouble leaving room for dessert, but I do manage. Even with their desserts, the choices are many.Weve learnt that if one needs a dessert without sugar, just ask one of the attendants and they will happily bring an item out from behind their separation wall. This is but another place Pat and I enjoy being able to treat ourselves to once in a while, here in Moncton, NB.Neither of us are big gamblers but we do enjoy meandering through the Gambling area on our way out (buffet is at the far end of the casino floor).Pat and I have brought loved ones to this place more than once and will continue doing so in future, God willing.Since we live so close to this casino, renting a room has never been a consideration but, from what we've seen, we're sure they're well kept. Both of us have enjoyed walking their main hotel corridor which displays past celebrities that have performed and stayed at this fine casino/hotel.We have also driven along their back parking lot to check out the many different campers using their lot for temporary parking. Very nice layout and compassionate of the owners to allow campers with limited parking.

Great service at the hotel check in today. The employee informed us that since we were booking a suite for two nights we could take advantage of the extreme players package. Our room was cleaned once during our 4 night stay. The checkin staff refused to even entertain checking us in early, citing that our room wasn’t ready at 3pm. He was very rude and condescending. Yet the cleaning staff informed us they stopped cleaning at 2pm and all rooms were ready. The pool and spa conveniently closed the first day of the YQM festival and reopened the day it ended. They hyped up the amazing shower in the king suites, that was a major disappointment. It was a large shower that was narrow, without shelves and just had 1 single shower head. The lighting in the room was absolutely terrible. The staff in the bar/casino area were lovely.Overall the experience was underwhelming and definitely not worth the money paid to stay there.

As far as hotels go, this place was refreshing.Pros:-lots of parking-casino-adjacent-pool and hot tub-spacious rooms-very, very long shower!-near the main road, gas station, and several amenities (including the zoo, magnetic hill, a winery, a water park-clean room-convenient if attending any on-sight eventsCons:-dated (rooms, showers, facilities), staining or tile tarnishing makes it look a little dirty. Just needs a little upgrading inside.-taps and fixtures installed were not a good design (design not hotels fault, but selection might be), managed to rip it out of the wall without breaking it because of cumulative rotation of many guests. Able to screw in again completely but not after getting sprayed with freezing water for 5 minutes.-not Hotels fault: nearby amenities close very early, even in "busy" season. Nothing active after 5 pm. Just something to know about location.- booking through TD for Expedia means you are not eligible for "stay and play" voucher (didn't matter for us, might for people who come to gamble)-though website lists poker, it is only active 2-3 days each week. Was a bummer for us as one of our party was really eager-nothing walkable nearbyOverall, recommend staying if the above doesn't put you off. I would recommend it to friends. Would give 4.5/5* if halves were allowed.

Rooms are clean but I gamble and now reside within 45 minute drive, so no longer get comp rooms which is unfair and do not get anything to replace that comp.Buffet is normally good but unfortunately if you wish to gamble on Sunday to Tuesday, tough luck as there is not a buffet on these days.14 months(twice a week) of gambling in this casino and yet to walk away ahead of the game.Heard a new native casino is coming near Dieppe so I agree with many patrons in Casino NB, that either it will need to start paying out or will need to be sold in order to keep patrons coming.Oh, and I lose $5000 and may get enough points for a free buffet. Pretty sick if you ask me.Received a waste of time reply from a manager to contact them but I wouldn't get a email reply anyhow as itried before. But here today I've placed $1100 in a Dragon Link machine and received zero bonus spin after spinning 341 spins. A lady next to me betting $30/spin has not received any win over $300 after well over 400 spins. Government should pose a million dollar fine towards this casino for first offense and shut the doors on second offense.

we stayed at the Casino hotel Aug 9th and 10th 2024, we were there to see a show at the Molson Canadian Centre. We stayed in room 414, room was very large and comfortable but had peeling wall paper in bathroom ( as seen in photos) chips and damage to bedroom wall, but over all comfortable room just showing it's age. The staff were wonderful 10 outta 10, both front desk and cleaning. at this point I would give a 4 outta 5 except for...........parking. Parking was horrible. if there is a show don't expect to have and parking out front of the hotel after 7pm. There are to parking area out back but no back entrance so expect a 100m to 200m walk around the hotel to get to the front, sucks if it raining. So if my advice if your coming to the casino or the see a show the hotel is great place to stay, if your coming to Moncton to see other attractions stay at a different Hotel.

The buffet host with blonde hair has the LEAST welcoming vibe in the history of restaurants. If she's trying to do an impression of someone who hates her life then someone should let her know that we get it already. LADY, why do you hate every restaurant customer? People are afraid to ask you a question because of your overall demeanor. CHANGE your attitude and stop being such a stuck up RESTAURANT MANAGER and ruining people's dinner.

Hands down currently the best poker tournament structures on the east coast and the match the stack cash games are 🔥 on Thursday & Friday nights. I don't stay or play tables games so I can't speak to those but the poker room is A1

We dropped into the casino for an hour while travelling through New Brunswick. It is small but has good slots and for a small pace the payouts were decent! Free tea and coffee as well as soda pop while you gamble. Table games were not open on the evening that we were there (Tuesday) but we didn’t mind because there was a nice variety of slot machines. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes to win on slot machines!

Great place to spend a nice evening. Casino was good. We didn't win, but that's the risk of gambling, lol. The dealers were really friendly. The hotel was amazing. Really large room with a super comfortable bed. Will definitely return.

Was very disappointed when staying here. The shower has stains, food was over priced, beds was uncomfortable. I heard so much good about this place but I was very disappointed and nothing like I was told!

I have stayed many many times at the casino. For many different reasons, and have never been dissatisfied. The front desk clerk Amanda is so kind. I have had the pleasure of her waiting on me multiple times. Always a smile and great at answering any questions or concerns.I have been here for medical reasons and appointments and have never had an issue. Always look forward too staying here.
Leanne D — Google review
First of all, this is a review of the Casino, not the hotel. Google doesn't seem to differentiate between the two. So rooms, service and location really don't apply here. I should also mention on this note, Google doesn't seem to have a number for the poker room specifically and it sure is a pain having to call the hotel and be transferred everytime. Moreover, when the poker room is closed and you're transferred to the pit boss, they genininely seemed confused by basic questions and are rude off phone when they are asking their colleagues information they should already know. All of this isn't the point however, the point of this review is that the poker chips in the Casino are disgusting and look as though they haven't been cleaned or replaced since the Casino opened. The chips literally stick together and have visible gunk on them. Gross! God knows how many people have touched these chips and just coming off a Pandemic this is disgusting and not acceptable.

Staff was phenomenal Kim, Dave, Yhia Yhia and Klem were fantastic. Alex went above and beyond and explained things we needed to understand Canadian way. Alex at the front helped out Birthday be extremely awesome . I thought he was a manager already. Very classy man. Hotel was clean and comfortable also. We will always stay here when we return.

Buffet is not the greatest but that is all you have to compare it with locally I guess it's ok a bit pricey for what they have to offer. The main course was pork belly.

Was there many time but mostly for concerts the venue is awesome and big but my only issues are that if I paid to see a band and I have to sit I don't want to have security standing in front of me so I can't see the show thats not what I paid for also your pop prices need to be lower considering your only using cans of pop to fill cups. Also the buffet is absolutely wonderful 😋

In addition to its adventurous activities, Cape Enrage also boasts a kid-friendly trail with beautiful flowers during warmer months and excellent views of one of New Brunswick's nicest beaches.
Wonderful staff, great view and very beautiful! Will definitely be coming back!! Definitely a destination to put on your bucket lists. Beautiful spot. Views from the lighthouse are spectacular. We walked down along the beach as it was low tide. We were shocked at how much it cost to come for a short time. Very few people were there when we were.

What a beautiful experience. Because of health issues, I'm trying to do things I would never do before it's too late. Zip lining is one of them because of fear of heights. If it wasn't for the staff at each station from paying...suiting me up....and at the top of the platform encouraging me n my friend....we both would have backed out half way up the stairs ...but at each station , the workers made you feel like you could do it. Zip Lining.....check!

This is an amazing place. The fossils will blow you away. It’s beautiful along the bay anyway, but you could spend hours looking at fossils that are so easily found.

You can get a beautiful view of the landscape depending on the time of day and weather permitting. The fresh beer battered haddock with tartar sauce and the french fries made by the chef Heather were second to none. The fossils at display in the restaurant were quite cool.

Park
Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park, also known as Flowerpot Rocks due to its natural pinnacles and arches, is a coastal park located in Hopewell Cape within the Bay of Fundy. The rocks have been eroded into twisted shapes by the sea and are an other-worldly sight to behold. At low tide, a two-kilometre beach appears on what was once the ocean floor, providing easy access to the 20 wave-formed stacks via a wheelchair-accessible ramp.
The are breathtaking. We arrived around 1 and the tide was still out. We didn’t mind, but it would have been nice to see how far out it goes so if you want to do that then plan accordingly. The walk to the rocks is about 10 minutes depending how fast you walk(might be about 15 if you’re a bit slower). It is a little bit of an uphill walk back up. We stayed around and ate at the cafe while we waited for high tide at 4:30. It seems like a fair amount of time to stay at the rocks.Highly recommend!

You do not need to book tickets in advance like Tobermory!!!There is a huge parking lot available free of cost.Approximately 35 dollars to get it and if you want the shuttle it's 2 dollars per person one way. It's a steep descent and the shuttle is highly recommended for older people or for those with disabilities. The shuttle runs every 5 minutes and is a lovely joyride. The park is well setup with trails and off course the rocks. They have bathrooms and a very nice gift shop on location. There is also a museum in the main building where you can learn all about Hopewell Rocks. The rocks themselves are a great experience where you can walk on the ocean floor during low tide and come back later during high tide to see water gushing all over where you were during low tide.Fantastic picture spot and I sure did go crazy clicking away. It's a lot of stairs down though to the ocean floor - so be prepared. They do have vantage points in case you cannot use the stairs.I believe there is both a low and high tide everyday.

Very cool experience in NB about 45 minutes from Moncton. It was interesting to walk on the ocean floor and then see the tide rise and make such a difference in 10 minutes! We arrived at around 10am in July when the low tide was around 8am. Even then the tide was quite far out from all the rocks and we leisurely explored for over 2 hours. The high tide was around 2pm but at noon there was still lots of time to explore the floor.I suggest you wear either sandals or waterproof shoes as it does get quite muddy in areas. I wore sneakers and they did get dirty but there’s a large shoe cleaning area at the top of the stairs to help everyone wash off.Parking is abundant with one of the largest parking lots of maritime attractions. There is also quite a large gift shop and exhibit in the building just past the gates. All the staff was very friendly and was more than happy to answer your questions and talk about the ecosystem that you’re walking through. The site is pet friendly and also very accessible. There are mandatory metal stairs to the ocean floor but there are multiple view points for people with mobility issues. This is a must see attraction in the province! Even at around $16 per person (+$2 for a shuttle to skip a 15 minute walk) I would say it was a very cool experience

A perfect example of amazing nature!Worth visiting once in a lifetime.Crazy tides which just rise upto 36 feet on normal days everydayStaff is courteous and happily attends guests. Must visit the information centre museum alongwith the Flower Rocks.Ticket allows multiple visits for two days which is great, although on a bit expensive side, however, if you’re new Canadian you can use your Canoo app and get free admission.Parking is free

Hopewell Rocks is an amazing place to see just how significant the change of tide is in the Bay of Fundy. There is an admission fee to have access to the park, but your admission allows two consecutive days of entry. This is helpful if one wants to see the difference between the high and low tide versions of the park. The trails are very nice and lead to some excellent overlook points. They are wide and well-maintained. The stairway to the sea floor, though, is a stairway. Hence, there's no way for someone with significant mobility issues to get down. The Park Visitor Center has excellent displays, and a nice gift shop. There is also food available

Awesome place. If you can come here make sure you have enough time to see both low and high tide. Ticket is good for two days so you'll have time if you plan well.So many pictures opportunities but be warned, there are lots of people at low tide so your pictures will include many others in them.We saw people kayaking at high tide and there is a great picture showing this in the information center.

Beautiful place.. but when going, make sure you know when the tides are in and out, the first time we went it was high, we weren't allowed to go down . We took our receipt back and we were able to go down the next morning. I recommend that you pay the 2$ or use a token to use the shuttle.Mornings are best.. have fun
Stephanie D — Google review
Exceptional natural beauty. Absolutely recommended. Visit at low tide if you want to walk between the rocks. Check their website for tide tables. We walked down to the Flower Pot. The trail there is about 1 km and has a gentle slope that should be doable for most people. From the platform you can take a staircase with a few flights of steps down to the beach itself.Once at the beach, I recommend first walking to the right until the end, which is a few hundred yards over stones or slightly muddy patches, then walking back, continuing past the staircase and walking to the far left end of the beach where a ramp takes you back up to the trail. This way you will see all the rocks.Given the soil, I recommend wearing walking shoes or Wellington boots. If you prefer not to walk, there is a paying shuttle service from the park entrance down to the viewing platforms. A one-way trip costs 2 CA$ per person and toddlers are free.People in wheelchairs can ask the park attendants to get access to the parking near the beach. Getting down to the beach itself is possible via a wheelchair accessible ramp (the same one as described higher) but riding a wheelchair on the beach itself will probably not be possible.

This was pretty cool to see, make sure to arrive at or near low tide as this is the best time to be able to walk around and appreciate how far the tide is out, very interesting to see. As the tide comes in the staff start to close off areas of the beach that are starting to flood. we watched for a while and then came back latter when the tide was all the way in, A great way to see the extremes. There is a shuttle of sorts if you want to take it bring cash. Gift store etc., bathrooms, nice walk to the staircase going down to the sea shore. Highly recommend 2-4 hoursDiscovercanadarving.ca

Very much a must do if you are in the area..even if its raining. Just remember to come at low tide. Picnic areas and restroom in the parking lot. Good food in the cafeteria. Really nice staff. On a sunny day the $2 per person shuttle may be worth it on the way back, but in the rain it was very much welcomed both ways. Memories will be made here and are a requirement.

Visited during low tide the day after a new moon. 🌑 Incredible landscape. I’m from Oregon and found myself in awe of how similar yet different the landscape was. So many rocks! Watch out for the mud and check the tides. Despite the official website warning visitors that the park is closed in the offseason, you can visit.

Natural Marvel - that provides an unforgettable experience !! Visited it on the Memorial Day weekend, it was bit windy and drizzling which really enhanced the beauty of this amazing spot. The park is well-organized and accessible, with well-maintained trails and informative signage that provides interesting facts about the geology and history of the area.So many viewpoints give you the amazing landscape of the Bay of Fundy. The walk down to the ocean floor is beautiful, with plenty of viewpoints along the way to take in the stunning scenery.Watching these majestic rock formations especially the flowerpot rocks and during both high and low tide is a delight 🤩There are also excellent facilities, including clean restrooms, a gift shop, and a cafe. Enough picnic benches around. Also a kid’s play area next to the cafe.

I found the place ok. The park is well-maintained, with clear trails and informative signage that enhances the visit. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, offering insights into the geology and ecology of the area. There are also several viewpoints and walking trails that provide panoramic views of the bay and surrounding landscape. Don't waste your money on buying shuttle up and down. They are really 10 min walk each way if you can manage a short walk. One tip is to plan a visit around the tide schedule so you can experience both high and low tides.Overall, Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park is a attraction for anyone traveling to the area. It’s a place where nature’s artistry is on and it offers a forgettable experience. Nothing that great unless you decide to wait for hours to walk down there on the low tide.

Nice place, clean, well managed.Must plan your trip as per tide timing. Do book for kayak in advance - we didn't get one day in advance and had to skip bcoz of tight schedule.$14 per person entry fee, valid for two consecutive days. The canteen/cafeteria is also good and reasonably priced.

This is totally worth every dollar to go! The view is amazing and even though it is busy there are more than enough opportunities to take fantastic photos. The hike / walk down to the rocks takes about 15 minutes and there is a shuttle that takes your down to the top of the stairs. You still have to take the 99 stairs down to the bottom! There is another area that does have a ramp to go down. At the rocks you will need to walk. Wear shoes you don’t mind getting muddy! Pets are allowed and no extra cost. There is an additional coat for the shuttle. It is $2 per person per trip and dogs are allowed on the shuttle. The line up to get in goes quick! Make sure you check the tide schedule before you go. We went August 2, 2022 from 10:30 am till 12 pm.

There's free parking. The park has these walking trails. You got to pay the admission fee to get in. There's a shuttle buses service to get to the part where you're able to walk down the stairs I assume. There are toilets along the trail pathways.Depending on when you go, they have different opening and closing times. We went in the earlier dates so the times were from 9 am to 5 pm. You can still enter the park even after the 5 pm closing time. You don't need to pay. And there is still parking available outside of the gates. But, you may not be able to walk the ocean floor, or have enough time to enjoy your walk of the ocean floor (and to take lots of photos).Pretty looking rocks at high tide. Nice scenery. There are multiple lookouts to see the rocks and the nearby scenery.3:00/3:30 pm for the day that we went, we walkes on the ocean floor. And we took many photos of the Flower Pot Rocks. We took photos of the other rocks, whose names I don't remember. We walked back and forth on the ocean floor, over rocks, through mud, and through watery mud. It's recommended to bring and wear boots, like those rain boots, hiking boots, winter boots."Natural beauty. Beautiful. Many secrets in nature." - My Parents, 2023The guide we talked to was informative inside the information building. Great park. Fair entry valid for a couple days so you can experience both high and low tides. The main hub area has play modules for kids. It's well maintained.Gift shop and washrooms also available. If you're going down to the Flower Pot Rocks, I'd recommend wearing shoes you don't care to dirty as they'll likely get mud on them. If they do, they have hoses and scrubs to clean your shoes at the top of the stairs.Breathtaking views.

I loved everything about it! Admittedly seeing the extreme tidal change at the Bay of Fundy has been on my bucket list for a long time, finally getting to experience it did not disappoint. I definitely recommend the guided sea kayaking tour at high tide, but be sure to experience the difference at low tide either before or after, it's amazing!

Hopewell Rocks offers breathtaking views, allowing you to witness the mesmerizing tides ebb and flow—a truly awe-inspiring display of nature's power. The sheer volume of water is a sight to behold. Keep in mind, though, that booking kayaks in advance is crucial to fully explore this remarkable coastal gem. Despite missing out on that, the stunning vistas alone make it a worthwhile destination for any nature enthusiast.

The Hopewell Rocks are definitely worth a visit. We got there first thing in the morning for low tide so we could explore the beach and then had lunch while we waited for high tide. We had a great time and loved seeing all the formations. It's a short walk to get to the rocks from the parking lot, but there is a shuttle for anyone who needs some assistance and then stairs to get down to the beach.

A truly unique park, on the Bay of Fundy, with so much to offer, it's well worth a visit. We visited early morning at low tide. The park is well-maintained with well-groomed walking paths. The trails to the waterfront are a lengthy but easy walk and mostly shaded. There is also an option to pay for a shuttle from a golf cart driver. There are also many stairs descending to the waterfront. Once down at the ocean floor, it is absolutely breathtaking! There is so much beauty to see and explore. There is also a visitor center, with washrooms, a gift shop, and a cafe. There is an admission fee that allows you access to the park for two consecutive days.

Absolutely amazing! The hike down was marked well. They offer a shuttle if you can't walk the 10 minute hike to the staircase. Your ticket is good for 2 days and you can come and go as many times as you would like. The walk along the beach/ocean floor was picture perfect. Wish I could have seen it at high tide as well.

Sea, sand, stacks and caves too. Time to visit is crucial for best experience. So, visit twice in high and low tides will give you the best experience in a sense that the admission ticket has generously covered for 2 days visit. Also, enjoy a good meal at the restaurant near the entrance with splendid view of the mud flat at low tide. Anyway, stay as long as possible and DON'T see and run like so many tourists did.

Such a beautiful place to visit. I was debating of taking the 2 hour trip from Saint johns but we'll worth it.Entry fee is $19 plus tax to walk down and if you'd like to take the shuttle down to the beach when the tide is down, it's $4 both ways. I walked down and paid to come up because that's a hike lol. Nice that they gave that option and it only cost me $2 to go up (well worth it if you don't want to hike up hill for 15 min)

An amazing experience ✨️ walk the ocean floor and admire the sea stacks (flower pots). After the a coastal ocean floor walk, visit the High Tide restaurant for tasty food that is also a generous portion. Tammy had a genuine smile and made sure our dining experience was as perfect as the view. We will definitely be back. It is so worth the road trip from Ontario. Love the assortment of souvenirs at the friendly shop as well. I wish I bought more lobster mood rings.

Must see place, be ready to get your feet 👣 dirty. Nice 15 minutes walk in, but took a shuttle on the way back 2$ per person, too tired to walk back. Beautiful nature wonder, muddy water and tides, family friendly.

Love it here... It is a very hard Trek up and down because when you do get to where you have to walk down to get down to the rocks you're tired when you have to come back up. They do have a shuttle bus that takes you from the top to the bottom. I would recommend you doing the shuttle. I didn't take the shuttle and I was so tired. My legs hurt from walking up the hill, the 15-minute walk and down the hill and then also walking up all the stairs. It is not wheelchair accessible so if anybody is in a wheelchair they would only be able to go to the lookout part unfortunately.

This place is a must see! The views are amazing. We went at low tide and were able to enjoy walking through the rocks and walking to the water. It's super muddy when you go at low tide so wear old shoes or sandals. There is beautiful trails with lots of plants and fungus to see. You can also shuttle to and from the top. At the entrance to the experience there is a gift shop and tiny educational museum. We had a great experience.

Please keep in mind the following details:Firstly, there is ample and free parking available. Secondly, there is an admission fee of nearly 40 Canadian dollars for a family of four. Upon entering, you will find a trail of less than 800 meters with some uphill and downhill paths. Additionally, you have the option to take the tour bus for 2 CAD per person. The landscape after low tide offers a stunning visual effect. As you walk down the steps to arrive next to the large rock, you'll marvel at the ingenuity of nature. The rock is covered in seawater at high tide and then reappears covered in water plants at low tide. I would like to acknowledge the responsible staff who use drones to check the top of the rocks for potential safety hazards.Lastly, when your shoes get muddy and sandy, there's no need to worry as there are manual sprinklers near the exit to clean your shoes.

Beautiful park, well worth a visit. Walk the bay floor at low tide . Experience the bay of Fundy up close. Check tide schedule before heading out to make sure you arrive at the right time. Ticket is valid for 2 days so you can experience it during low and high tide. Hike down to the bay or pay extra and take to golf cart ( great option for those with mobility issues or tight timelines) $2 each way for the cart . To get to the bottom completely there are several sets of stairs ,there is a viewing platform for those you cant make the trek down . There is also a more accessible beach down the way but doesn't have all the interesting rock formations. Pay attention to the times of tides , if you get stranded your rescue will cost you a pretty penny. Restaurant and nice gift shop with a kids playground located at the top near the parking lots. Lots of bathrooms along the way. Good boots recommended as it's get muddy walking around . Boot cleaning station available.

Beautiful view. I love being able to walk on the ocean floor the only thing that I wish I would have seen was the difference between low tide and high tide as I missed the high tide the first time. There is an entry fee, but it lets you go to consecutive days, so you have the opportunity to see both tides and experience. The rocks and they're full beauty

Great place to visit when the tide is out. When I was there an employee said it was probably one of the busiest days ever. That being said, things were well organized and didn’t seem chaotic. I had forgotten to wear some crocs instead of my new shoes which I didn’t want to ruin. Gift store had some water shoes and sandals available to buy which allowed me to venture off in the mud with my kids.

An incredible few hours spend here witnessing the lowest part of the tide, to start, with the gorgeous sunshine and gentle breeze… plus getting covered in mud, but that’s all part of the fun and adventure. Don’t go wearing your best shoes and clothes if you want to walk on the ocean floor. We stayed long enough to then with was the high tide coming in until it reached its maximum, what a dramatic effect and difference it is, completely changing the landscape, it’s incredible and makes for some stunning pictures.Be sure to check out the view points for gorgeous as well as the tranquil Plage de Demoiselles Beach.

Check this out for sure! Be prepared if you go down at low tide there is a lot to explore but be prepared to get muddy. Tons of photo opportunities.

The place opens from 9am to 5pm. However, before it's open or after it's close, you can still park near the parking lot, it will be about 3 minutes walk to the entrance. From there, you can follow the signed path to walk to several look out points (10 minute walk). We came here after the park was shut, managed to get some photos from the look out point. We returned the next day when the park was open to walk down to the rocks. Always check the tidal times.

There is an entry fee to help pay the upkeep of the site. We visited at the perfect time to walk below these majestic prehistoric rocks. The website of Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park allows you to view when the tide is high and low, that way you can decide when is the appropriate time to go. At the visitor centre, you will be welcomed by friendly staff at the souvenir boutique. Grab a bite to eat at the on-site restaurant; you will not be disappointed.

I love this place. We went in July, 2024. There was a big crowd, but it didn't affect much. The crowd got smaller the further down I went on the beach. I went all the way to the end. Worth it.Definitely go at low tide. Plan on getting at least the bottom of your shoes/crocs/sandals muddy (it's the Bay of Fundy, duh), but there are plenty of hoses at the wash station. But allow yourself to get even muddier if possible. It's fun.

The Giant Lobster in Shediac, Atlantic Canada, is a must-see landmark and a popular attraction for visitors. Located at 229 Main Street, this large sculpture symbolizes Shediac as the "Lobster Capital of the World." As the world's largest lobster sculpture, it attracts around 300,000 visitors annually. Tourists can enjoy taking selfies with this realistic and detailed sculpture, which now has steps for easier access to its top.
Wonderful touristic spot in a beautiful small town. The giant lobster in Shediac is an iconic site you need to visit, take a photo in and look around in the visitor info area and the souvenirs shops. You will find treasures made by locals in the big red barn and many social-media-worth spots to get nice pictures.Just park and walk around, it's a lovely place.

Iconic Landmark!! Must see if you’re in the area. The Giant Lobster 🦞 itself is incredibly impressive, standing at 35 feet, It’s a great spot for photos, and the surrounding area is beautifully maintained, making it a pleasant place to spend some time. Visited on a beautiful Saturday evening, so peaceful to sit and relax. Kids really loved the place. There are informative plaques nearby that provide interesting facts about the lobster and the local fishing industry. The location is easily accessible with ample parking, and there are picnic tables and benches where you can relax and enjoy the view. The site is also conveniently close to local shops and restaurants, so you can easily make a day of exploring Shediac.

Great place for the kids to play and have fun for a while. It was not too crowded at that time and we got a whole bunch of photos. The restaurants nearby did not seem to be open or we were late.Construction is going on currently so give yourself an extra 10 mins driving time.

There's a touch tank in the visitor center there. Highly recommend going. Was absolutely amazing to learn about the lobsters and how they reproduce. Lots of fun and a little shops. Highly recommend coming here for some quick stop the people are super kind and the area was super nice I had no idea that there was an aquarium in touch tank inside the building. Definitely worth an ask and going on the tour

I was late in the evening, and probably everything was closed nearby by 5 or 6 PM. It was great to see the world's biggest lobster statue. As this is one of a kind, I believe definitely need to stop by if you are around in the area or passing through.

I loved this giant lobster! Nothing says a road trip like a must see giant lobster in the middle of town. Can’t come to the lobster capitol and not get a picture ! Was super fun to get creative

Coming from the province that loves large out of this world attractions, I had to stop at this one. It is very detailed and realistic and is actually pretty darn big. The lobster is up on a pedestal with a fisherman in front of him.

It's an iconic spot for photos and souvenirs but there aren't a ton of options.A trip out east is never complete without a stop here ❤️

A nice place to take souvenir pictures of Shediac. Lots of stores nearby that offer snacks and mementos. I can say this site is well maintained and the people at the visitors’ centre are very accommodating & courteous.
Maria L — Google review
The gift shops are full of everything! Can get food there too. Around the lobster was busy so you do have to wait until you can get a picture if you don't want anyone else in it. There is alot of parking but it was full when we went during the week. There is also the lobster museum that offers tours in English and French, they do a presentation and there are touch tanks.
Alexa C — Google review
Great photo opportunity. 1 minute easy walk from carpark. Nice little boutique stores around the giant lobster
Nicholas G — Google review
We passed by this site during the off season of tourism. The lobster was actually being repainted; it was kinda cool to see how it was done. Unfortunately, the souvenir boutique was closed. We would consider re returning to see Shediac's full potential. If you go this summer, we are sure the lobster will be showing off it's beautiful colors.

A busy spot but well worth a picture stop. Late afternoon is best when the sun is optimum but be patient, the stop is likely to be crowded. Next to the Lobster is a few quaint brightly coloured shops and an information building that helped us find local dog walking trails.

I'm a fan of the giant lobster. Everyone who wanted a photo stood in an orderly queue and was respectful of each other. It's worth a stop for the photo op folks!

Great place to stop. We just wanted a picture with the lobster but we ended up taking the Homarus tour. $12/adult $8/child, totally worth it. We learned a lot about lobsters, and even got to touch them. The hands on touch tanks were a huge hit. Kids help crabs, start fish and sea urchins. The little shops are cute and reasonably priced as well.

Beautiful beautiful! The lobster was so realistic! A real piece of art. Also the shops were so cute we bought lots of souvenir and had ice cream and lobster rolls. My mom got sick so we did not do the museum tour but next time!

World's largest lobster. Magnificent sculpture. Shediac's best tourist place.

Loved it! Probably the biggest lobster I will ever try to eat (I did not succeed). Great place to take pictures with it and show off to people who couldn't. The captain was the silent type and for some reason kept looking at the birds. Came early May before the season opened and we basically were alone. For sure would visit it again another time!

Fun place to stop. A few shops, a lobster roll place, and beautiful views. We must have visited during off season because the shops were closed but still fun to see the lobster statue.

A nice place to visit. A shop is tgere to have some short foods. A coffee costs $2. A clean nice place. No tickets needed.

A really fantastic sculpture, very realistic with lots of detail and great for getting selfies, especially with the steps added to get to the top. This was a must see on our trip, Shediac is the lobster capital only the world after all! Even if you are just driving through to get to P.E.I, it’s worth a stop to take a look and snap some pictures. We were out of season but from what we understand lots of shops and food places are open in the summer.

The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Joggins Fossil Cliffs is a dramatic coastal cliff and coal face with embedded fossilized trees and marine life. The cliffs and coal face are full of interesting geological features, including waterfalls and rock formations. The visitor can explore the site on their own or take a guided tour. There are picnic tables and toilets available for use, as well as binoculars for looking through.
Love this place. I have been here several times and it is always a delight. The grounds are spectacular and the museum is great. The staff is helpful and very knowledgeable. You can view the footprints of creatures frozen where they once walked. They have a great record of plant, invertebrate and vertebrate life within fossils.

Main visitor center wasn't open. They seem to have limited hours. The beach is open and they have the tide chart listed so you can walk the beach with confidence that the tide won't get you! Nice walk, but I didn't see any fossils. Also, the walk on the beach is free.

Fascinating history, worth a visit if you're in the area. We did the 30 minute tour which was plenty for 3 kids (youngest 6), and we spent an additional hour or so on the beach. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Be prepared for very different weather.

One of my absolute favorite places to go visit. It is always such a relaxing fun and interesting to take the family. It does not cost any money to go on the beautiful rock beach, make sure to look up tide times for joggins fossil cliffs in NS the day you are going, if not you and the tide is high you will NOT be able to go down to the beach!!! :)

Arrived as the tide was going out, explored the gallery, and then made our way down to the beach without the tour as low tide arrived. Glad we went to the gallery first, or we wouldn't have known what to look for! We took pictures of our finds and showed them to the gentleman behind the desk in the center. He told us what we had found and helped us understand what was in the photos. Informative and educational!

Binoculars $1 to look through. Pic nic tables to eat at.even found a few geocaches there.. awesome day 💙 even left a few of my painted rocks behind for others to find.

An excellent opportunity to see fossils in their natural state. The fossils here are mostly plant based. Go on the guided tour if possible and don't be scared off by the steps to get down, there's appx 69 and are nice and even with a railing.

What a great experience! We booked a 90-minute tour and were fortunate to be guided by Dana Brown. Dana shared his vast knowledge as easily as if he was chatting with us about neighborhood going-ons over tea. He stretched our minds back to 300 million years ago by infusing every bit of information with something that made it alive to us. 90 minutes went by quickly; we are hoping to make it back for a 4-hour tour!

Great place to learn about rich geological history of the Joggins Cliffs and scientific discoveries at Joggins. If you are just visiting the beach it’s free to enter. The museum has a few. The museum is small but displays the discoveries at Joggins. A 3-5 minute walk from the center will take you down to the beach. There is a small picnic area, public washrooms. At the time of our visit the cafe was closed.

Missed the last tour after a 5 hour drive...I really wanted to see fossils but staff told me I can go but won't find anything... I checked the tide time visited the museum then went... glad I did...too bad the staff wasn't helpful at all!

This was a surprising and a rare find on our way back from Halifax to Boston! And what a great surprise! You can see yourself being pulled back millions of years ago with the fossils around you. The museum is great and we learnt about some of the oldest discovered fossils. We also explored the area when you can find your own fossils! I and my 9 year old daughter could have spent days here!
Manu J — Google review
Beautiful beach with amazing rock layers visible along the cliff. The tour offers an expert who can point out the features and help identify fossils. As a protected beach you cannot take any rocks home, so bring your camera.

Wonderful museum. Watch the little movie. Walk the beach. Great staff.
CJ M — Google review
An amazing experience! A friendly staff and museum / history center small, but large and detailed enough to hold a family's attention while waiting for low tide. (Be sure to plan your trip around the tide schedule, so you're able to walk the rocky beach & explore the joy of finding fossils! Fossils must be returned, however, --this is a protected site.)
Courtney N — Google review
Certainly, a must see if you are in the area. This is a unique place, but requires a climb up and down 3 flights of stairs that are not too strenuous. May not be appropriate for very small children, especially toddlers. There are fossils everywhere! Look for the lines from trees and tree branches. You have to be cognizant of the tides, as you can get caught in an incoming tide, especially if you wander too far down the shoreline close to the change in tides.Definitely recommend.
P W — Google review
Such an amazing experience! We decided to stop in on a whim on the way back from PEI and pretty much had the place to ourselves once we waited out high tide. My time listed below for waiting is strictly because we arrived an hour before the tide went out. The wait time to buy a ticket was under 5 minutes so we went around the museum while we waited. The walk down to the beach might be difficult for some, so just keep that in mind if you're looking to visit. Make sure you bring an extra pair of socks and shoes too, it can get a little wet!

An old relic of N.S that is lovely to visit and go fossil hunting ! Very calming and relaxing activity to do on your own or with others. Beautiful beach with nice cliffs and sprawling rock formations and interesting rocks that are fossils in huge abundance!Inside the Joggins museum they have a brilliant display of rocks, fossils and the history of that area.A note to those who plan a journey here. Plan your visit in accordance to the tides. Our visit was timed near the tide coming in, the tide cane in quickly and abruptly ended our fossil hunt. We nanaged to get in a solid 35 or so mins but could of gone longer, that would of been nice.

Cool place to visit. We went with local friends. It was post hurricane so a bit cooler and windy on the beach but we had a great time. Very educational.

This centre is a good educational spot. There is a small museum with information on the area and exhibits. We did the tour with a guide who took us down to the beach and explained quite a bit more about the cliffs and the area. There are toilets and a nice little gift shop in the centre. There are also stairs that go down to the beach.
Vanessa B — Google review
I will start by saying I’m not much of a fossil person. My thoughts are that if you have the time to drive here, it’s cool to look at and see. If you don’t have the time you really aren’t missing much. It’s free to go and see it but you can pay for a tour to learn more if interested.
Ben — Google review
I STRONGLY suggest to take the guided tour. It makes the experience a thousand times better. Our guide was passionnate and knowledgeable. I feel that without a guide, the cliffs are not as interesting since you wouldn't know what to look at.I also strongly recommend to take 30-45 minutes BEFORE the tour to visit the museum, so everything during the tour would make more sense. The staff is very friendly, the museum is clean and simple.
Lou P — Google review
It’s amazing! Great to go with the family and learn about our history!
Vivian — Google review
The tour is well worth taking, best to tour the museum before the tour as the tour was mainly the guide wandering the beach with you pointing out fossils. Helps to have a little more background before you go down there. The 1.5 hour tour doesn’t actually take you to the area marked “best fossils” on the map, so once you’ve got an eye for what you’re looking for, after the tour you can wander over to the other area on your own. The tour ends on the beach and you’re left on your own to get back.
Kate W — Google review
Me and the family had a great time here. Check the tides and plan to show up about and hour before low tide. Bring lots of water and proper foot wear as the beach can be a little rough. Take your time and look around. You can find alot of new fossils every day if you have a good eye.
Allan P — Google review
An out of this world past comes alive in this rock strewn beach that is to be visited at low tide.Rocks and pebbles of various colours with fossilized marks are fascinating to observe. We walked on the ocean floor for an hour or so mesmerized by the rock face formations and the incredible expanse of rocks, stones and pebbles to pick up and feel a timeless evolution in our hands.
Phil V — Google review
Stop at Joggins Fossil Center on our way to Halifax. The Center is a nice building with a display (cost to sè the display). Walked down the stairs to the shoreline. The cliff's are cool to see. The tide was out so we could walk out a little way. Several people looking for fossils. Neat place. I recommend.

Cape Split Trailhead is a popular spot for hikers, offering a 16-kilometer trail with stunning views of the Bay of Fundy and the Spires rock formations. The area is being transformed into a Provincial Park, providing ample parking for visitors. Hikers can choose between the moderate Cape Split trail or the more challenging Amethyst Cove trail, which features steep climbs and rope assistance.
What an awesome view. You cannot really See how it is with the pictures.200° view around. The hiking is medium level ( not so high but long. 3-4hours)Just, dont lost your Time with the point view on the way... Most of Them you See, Nothing....Best view is at the END.Nobody was There when we were. So it was all for us 😁

It took approx 90 minutes for each side and the view from top was worth every step. It’s good if you take something like a bar/candy or anything sweet to eat and a water bottle. It will be windy on the top so having a wing breaker is advisable.Over all nice well maintained trail.

Look to the east young man from whence your forefathers came. See the endless rolling waves and cutting wind. Peer into the distance to find the mystery of the depths which keeps the secrets of a life long past. Over that side, eventually, is the the home country.Yet you stand here because of the journey made. Someone past spurred simply by a hope that passing through the waters would provide a better life.Overall an easy walk, lots of look out points. Would do again.

This was a very difficult trail,,I'm 63 and in fairly good shape I'm active in the outdoors and am no stranger to trails, but I would say moderate to difficult. The trail going in was dry and I did the whole loop going back. I got great views of the Cape as it was a clear day. On the way back it started to rain heavy lightning under and fog.The trail got really messy fast,,very slippery mud in-between large rocks that were thankfully embedded in the hard packed mud trail. So proud of myself for completing the whole loop. Lots of tourists on the journey. Bathrooms only once along the trail coming in.

Surprised we did the hike in 2 hours since we took frequent breaks. It was really muddy at the beginning of September so have some good waterproof hiking shoes or boots that you don't mind if they get dirty... We cleaned our shoes in a stream at the end of the trail. The views are amazing, especially at the very top!

So worth the hike to the split! It was very muddy so be prepared. Took us around 4 hours with some water breaks and a few look out spots. Hiked it with two children aged 9 and 12.

A 12 kilometres of moderate hike and end end is truly rewarding. The terrain is awe-inspiring. Hate me but I liked it much better than skyline trail. There are many look outs on the way. The path is rocky which makes it more interesting than walking on a boardwalk. And the end of either trail you go takes your breath away.
Arka D — Google review
Great view! The trail was easy enough to hike, about 2 hours each way. Great lookout points along the way!
Shelby V — Google review
Talk about a long walk!! There are 2 trails that take you to the end. The Minas basin trail is the more scenic IMO and is 6.2 km one way. The trails are easy to moderate. The view at the end is great. It can get windy so take a jacket if you plan to spend time there. There is a washroom only at the start where the car park is.
Johanne P — Google review
A bit muddy after lots of rain but lovely reward at end with beautiful views.
Gerard K — Google review
Set out on a 14km round trip hike that was truly rewarding. There are two paths to reach the end point: a 6km trail and a 7.3km trail. I took the shorter path to the Trailhead and opted for the longer route on the return. Both trails feature numerous lookout points, but the standout is definitely the Minas Basin Lookoff point, located 3km along the shorter path. The final viewpoint is absolutely breathtaking and made the journey worthwhile. Loved every moment, even though I was a bit exhausted after the 2.5-hour hike
Akshay N — Google review
Ambitiously speed walked the loop in 3 hrs. Tip: start this one early in the day. If the sun is low when you get to the end, itll just be in your eyes and you wont be able to enjoy the view! If you like ocean views and long walks through the forest, this hike is for you. If you're more into the eroding sandstone cliffs, go to a beach instead
Nina P — Google review
Definitely a bucket list hike! Awesome views along the way and of course when you get to the Cape. Very dog friendly but make sure they are always on a leash because of the steep cliffs. Great place for a hike took about 5 hours to do the loop with and break for a rest at the Cape. Make sure to bring lots of water and snacks.

Not a difficult hike but it is around 14k if you visit all the Look-Offs, beautiful view at the end of the trail

The cape split hike gets a lot of hype and attention in the local guidebooks but was very "meh." Our family does a lot of traveling and hiking and we found that this hike was rather boring except for the views at the end. We much prefer trails that have lots of views along the way. We also live on Vancouver Island so we are quite spoiled with spectacular views and hikes. I imagine someone from the prairies would think this hike is quite amazing. If you want a long walk through the forest, you will probably enjoy this hike. Be warned that there are several muddy wet spots. The locals on the trail warned us that they usually get home covered in mud up to their knees. We visited it on the July long weekend and the parking lot was so full that people were parking quite a ways down the road.
Adam A — Google review
Plenty of parking. About 5 min on the trail, there is a split - an option to go west to the Cape Split (the more popular moderate level trail with beautiful views) or east to the Amethyst Cove trail (a hard level trail that brings you to the north shore with a rather steep climb assisted by ropes along the trail). Make sure you have a trail map if you choose the hard level one. It was a fun experience, but the trail is not well marked. I used the AllTrails app to make sure I was on the right path. I included a few photos on the Amethyst Cove trail.

Consider this a "must hike" spot.Very scenic drive to arrive at the trailhead, it's enjoyable in itself.Perfect way to spend a day enjoying nature, the trail is a great workout. Suggest wearing proper footwear, bring a pack with extra water and snacks for along the way. A couple of options to walk the trail, you can do a loop or modify as you wish to suit your time/needs.Trail signs are clearly visible and there are some look off spots to take in the Ocean and have a break and make time for pictures. The lookoff at the point is such a reward for this hike.
Lou H — Google review
The hike is so muddy and full of ankle rollers. Get the best hiking boots and definitely waterproof. Its about 14k not 12k as some people mentioned. You need 6 hours to finish it successfully. The view is scary yet rewarding.
Zirzamin S — Google review
Embarking on the 7.5km hike was a journey filled with awe-inspiring moments, but the pinnacle was undoubtedly the main point – a vista of unparalleled beauty that made every step worthwhile. As the trail unfolded, stretching to a complete close of nearly 14km, the experience only grew more enchanting. From stunning landscapes to the invigorating challenge of the hike itself, this adventure truly exceeded expectations. A must-do for any avid hiker seeking an unforgettable outdoor experience.

We finally decided to take the plunge and do the hike to Cape Split. Some things to consider before doing this hike:1. Have real comfortable hiking boots. Waterproof would be best depending on when you go (ie: after a rain etc;). There is some mud and possibly water in some spots. There are lots of scattered rocks along the trail and roots sticking out so you really need to pay attention to foot placement.2. If you have the ability to carry a pack, I would take at least 1 liter of water and snacks in a sealed container.3. I recommend taking a large towel to have something to sit on once you reach the end of the trail. There are no benches on this trail.4. Recommed starting the hike early in the morning bedore it gets too hot. It wouldn't hurt to have bug repellant and sun screen either. The trees shelter most of the trail from rhe suns UV but you might want to take a long break when you reach the end.I have hiked a fair number of trails in Nova Scotia and so far I would consider this to be one of the more difficult hikes that I have done. When you start the hike it is uphill for wuite some time. Once you get past the major hills it does level out some but there are still a fair amount of hills. This would be an amazing trail if it was better maintained. The dissapointing thing about this trail and why I am giving it 3 stars is because of hiw the trail is maintained. For the entire trail you really need to pay attention to every step or risk tripping or stepping on single rocks which make your feet sore over time. We all had good quality hiking shoes and the bottom of our feet were quite sore. I can't imagine doing this hike in running shoes.
Clarry R — Google review
Fantastic hike! On average, will most likely take you about anywhere from 1.5-2.5 hours to hike to split rock depending on which trail you take and as well as how often you stop. Once you reach Cape Split, the scenery is breathtaking! Great spot to have lunch/snack and take it all in. Our team at PhotographingInTheMoment (insta) #photographinginthemoment enjoyed every aspect of the hike. Total distance is between 12-13k. Would def recommend wearing a decent pair of hiking shoes and have plenty of water.
Zeph M — Google review
We loved this trail, and the views, particularly at the tip, were glorious! We did the loop instead of there-and-back option and found the west side to be much muddier. Both sides were beautiful, however. Bring a picnic to enjoy at the point. There's a beautiful grassy clearing to sit down and enjoy a family or romantic picnic with stunning views.
Abra B — Google review
One of the must do hikes in Nova Scotia.Very scenic route all the way to the parking lot of trail head.Hike is scenic all the way as well, for hike you have option to do the loop or just the route best suitable for you. I recommend doing the loop, so you can enjoy all the beautiful views offered by this place.Hike is somewhere between moderate to hard, but the views at the end are worth doing this hike. Total loop is gonna take approx 5-6 hours plus the time you gonna spend on those spectacular views of cliffs and Atlantic Ocean.

Sadly this was a bit hard to find and once we arrived we discovered there is a fee to see part of the light house small museum. Many stairs up to the top, just FYI for those with mobility issues. The staff was friendly and helpful. The beach stunning.

A magnificent view, though a very high climb on steep stairs to get there. A great beach next to it to walk across with a sand bar next to it (easily accessible, especially further down the beach). Quiet as well, with some cool rocks and the water wasn't very cold at all.

When we arrived we thought the lighthouse was closed as the grounds were a bit overgrown and there were no signs. Once we found the door and discovered it was open we were greeted by friendly staff. The climb to the top is steep, and gets steeper with every level, however the view from the top is worth it. There are interesting facts posted on each level of you need a rest

Bottle Houses- Maisons de Bouteilles is a tourist attraction consisting of three beautifully crafted buildings made entirely out of recycled glass bottles.
Pretty much a tourist trap that we visited with eyes open, willingly giving them our money for some photos and the ability to say we'd been there. Notably, they still request everyone to wear face coverings and had the blue paper masks available at the door for free. They were slightly dog friendly, agreeing that our Minnie could visit - if we carried her. Overall, it was amazing the amount of work the artist undertook to create these building, but we left shaking our heads that he might have been slightly crazy to do so. We had fun.I originally gave this place a three star review, basically as I was grading on a curve and it seems impossible that every attraction we visit would get a four or five star review. After reading their extensive and well written comment I felt compelled to reconsider and kick it up a notch or two.We visit almost every "tourist trap" we drive by, and don't consider that description a hard negative. Tourist traps can be fun, quirky, interesting, and many other adjectives - this one was at least those three. We are not gardeners, but did appreciate the gardens. Sorry for putting Minnie down a couple times - she is very well behaved and well traveled herself, and even 15 pounds gets heavy. Wish I had known about the doggy wagons!Oh, it's actually amazing how many bottle houses there are. We've visited two PEI alone!

Fun and interesting little spot. Not big area probably do it in about half hour, but definitely could take your time walking threw. Great photo shoot area for different fun photoshoot. Beautiful little garden. Staff was very friendly.
Lisa-Mae M — Google review
We stopped in on our tour of the west side of the island. It was earlier in the spring before many of the blooms were out. I would suppose the garden would be quite stunning when in full bloom. It was quite evident there was a lot of time and care put into creating each building. It was nice to see and it inexpensive as admission was half price being it was early spring. Was it worth the stop? Yes if you enjoy nice gardens and a good story.
Bill L — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous! I took so many pictures and was amazed by all of it. 100% recommend. Also, read the pamphlet they give you. There's so much interesting history to go along with the pretty sights!
Erin L — Google review
This place has small buildings, big enough to walk inside, and the walls are made of glass bottles. Very impressive. Nice little gift shop. Washrooms. Nice gardens. Plan 30-45 minutes to see it all. Small admission fee.

Very interesting place to visit if you are in PEI. The 3 houses were built by Édouard T. Arsenault around 1980.Having seen a postcard of a tourist attraction consisting of buildings made of bottles on Vancouver Island, he decided to build the first house of bottles himself. After spending a long winter cleaning andsorting bottles, he was glad to see the spring of 1980 arrive; construction began a mere challenge and hobby yet. As his work progressed, people kept visiting him, admiring the results and encouraging him to pursue his dreams to reality.

Great little place. Was only$10 per adult. It is quite interesting. As well, there is a beautiful garden to still through.
Karen M — Google review
Well worth the $10 entry fee! Three houses made out of bottles by a man in his sixties with a dream ❤️. The houses are stunning, creative with color schemes. Beautiful piece of arts. The gardens are beautiful, the bench with red foxes had outstanding craftsmanship. Small lighthouse in the gardens. Would recommend and visit again!

A charming spot that’s worth the drive to check out a slice of true Canadiana. This spot is just one great example of Acadian culture dotting the island and the rest of the Maritimes. Very friendly staff here. Would recommend as a stop on a family day trip of the Weetern side of the island.
Steve J — Google review
Stopped to see the flower gardens since I had seen the houses 23 years ago. It changed a lot and it was beautiful. Worth the stop. Staff and gardeners are super friendly.

Pictures don’t do justice for this place. It was a man’s dream, now is our paradise. Highly recommended for PEI trip.
J S — Google review
I really enjoyed this location and enjoyed the bottle houses. Out back are a few kids games which we played and a nice little light house. Staff was friendly and overall just an enjoyable experience in PEI.
Stephen — Google review
Very beautiful gardens! The houses are amazing. But overall the visit lasted about 30 minutes. So don't think I would visit again. But very nice to see once and say you went.

Amazing stop! Loved it! So clean, manicured and beautiful garden . A bit pricy when going but worth it. Lots of places to sit down and enjoy. They have a nice gift shop as well.Could spend the whole day here with a picnic lunch. They have public washrooms, so that is nice.
Leafyleanne S — Google review
The bottle houses are worth a visit if you're in the area. We had fun with some photo ops and seeing all the clever designs and beautiful flowers in the summer. The staff were friendly and the gift shop had some cute items.
Vanessa B — Google review
I really enjoyed visiting. The bottle houses are gorgeous and the entire grounds as a whole have a lot to see and explore. I definitely thought it was worth the trip. The gift shop has incredible art and other things are reasonable prices.
Matthew H — Google review
Very surprised at how much we enjoyed this place. I thought it might be a glass house, and that was it. This place is so much more. There are several bottle buildings. The grounds are stunning with perennials everywhere. The gift shop is loaded with items made by local artists. Not the junk that is made in China.Come see what one man can do with 12,000 bottles
Kenneth D — Google review
Off the main highways, but worth the extra time. It was a lot of work to construct the buildings and the lovely gardens.
Ernie K — Google review
A small, but delightful, local attraction. The bottle houses are interesting and whimsical, but the GARDEN is just gorgeous and very peaceful. Well worth the drive and (inexpensive) admission fee.
Jerry C — Google review
A truly special and whimsical spot. Between the bottle houses, incredible expansive gardens, to the adorable fairy and gnome gardens throughout the property, it's a must see and the perfect spot for the young and youg at heart. Thank you!
Monica S — Google review
If you're in PEI, this is a must-see attraction, no doubt about it.It's a labor of love, twice over: originally by the maker of the houses (Edouard) and then by the people who rebuilt his creations, documented everything, and preserved his legacy so beautifully. Love for the man and his work shines through the site.Just a lovely place to stroll through. The explanations are worth reading.Admission for our family of four was $25.
Daniel T — Google review
This is an ideal destination for a day out with friends and family, featuring a wide range of captivating attractions and stunning views. The $10 adult entrance fee is quite reasonable given the wealth of experiences offered. The venue is impressively well-maintained, and the presence of a gift shop adds to the experience. With so much to explore, it's undeniably a must-visit if you happen to be in PEI!
Pooja P — Google review
This was a highlight of the trip. A must see in my opinion. there was something very charming. The gardens are so nice as well. I would come here every day if I could. Very peaceful.

Amazing place to see in PEI, we paid 25$ for family of 4. We loved it, very kind people and welcoming. Beautiful garden and great idea! Definitely recommending it!
Andrei S — Google review
Pretty gardens and some interesting structures made of bottles and cement but not worth the out of the way location and $10 per person entry fee.
Doug — Google review
What a lovely place the Bottle Houses- Maisons de Bouteilles is to see in PEI! It happened to be a rainy day when I visited and it was still beautiful touring the bottle houses and gardens. Truly a labour of love as revealed in the historical pictures and descriptions at the site which have been lovingly preserved by the current owner. A beautiful reminder that we can be inspired to make dreams come true at any age since Edouard Arsenault began construction at 66. Thank you for preserving this beauty!
Katherine D — Google review
I enjoyed this space and the time there, but I don’t know that the ticket price really aligned with the experience on the whole. It was cool to walk through, but we spent less than 30 minutes onsite with seeing everything. It might have been more enjoyable with any type of interaction or something to follow. Maybe I missed something. :)I think if you’re not budget conscious, its a nice stop to make and a good way to stretch your legs while looking at an interesting spot.
Lindsey R — Google review
An absolutely charming place that is worth the $10 admission. I wasn't sure at first what to expect; I certainly didn't expect such a wonderful garden to slowly meander in. The namesake bottle houses were really near; great story behind them. There was also a cute gift shop!
Meaghan E — Google review
The Bottle Houses are unique and interesting. Built by a guy named Edouard in his seventies, he built 3 bottle Houses and used 25,000 bottles total. Some of the bottle houses had to be rebuilt because they collapsed. There's a small pond, garden with cute little decorations, bottle art sculptures, benches, a replica of a lighthouse...There's a gift shop when you first enter. Adult admission is $10. There's a self guided tour. They give you a brochure with the information on it. And in the houses there are the same information of the tour on it.

Popped by one day after work and these houses are so beautiful! If you’re into glass bottles and stained glass this place is small but there is so much to look at in each building.

Burntcoat Head Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which features the Joggins Fossil Cliffs. The cliffs are made of limestone and are 300 million years old. The park is full of tidal pools, as well as beaches and trails. It is a great place to explore for nature lovers, who will be fascinated by the fossils that can be found there.
Awesome spot in our province to see the world’s highest tides! Our own Hopewell Rocks! Make sure to time your visit right due to the tides. There’s so much to see and do here.
Andrew J — Google review
Deff come during low tide (high tide is fun too just make sure you bring a jacket) really cool park with a lot of cool history, deff a recommendation
OmegaW0o0lf — Google review
An amazing experience. There is a lot of natural beauty both filled and emptied. The guides are very accommodating and detailed. The most impressive part for me was the speed with which the Bay fills. You can watch the change happen and it is impressive!Definitely worth a trip.

So happy to find this place by chance while on our way to Cape Breton. We spent about 3 hours wandering the place, taking photos and just enjoying the area. When we arrived, it was high tide. About 45 mins later, it was low tide and we were able to walk on the ocean floor. What a great experience! The climb up to the lighthouse was interesting and you will get a 360 view on the place. Definitely worth the stop!
Sandra L — Google review
Completely amazed by the height of the tides! Beautiful landscape to experience. There is so much to see at low tide. Kids were having a blast finding hermit crabs! Definitely wear water shoes to be most comfortable and safe and be sure to keep track of the time because the tides coming in are fast and serious business!! This isn't a place to go swimming!
Michelle M — Google review
This is a MUST SEE location in NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA! You can see the best views of the High and low tides here as well as walk on the ocean floor during low tides. The lighthouse allows you to have an awesome view of the area from its height. Wear appropriate shoes or boots for walking the ocean floor and bring walking sticks if available for stability although not required.
R J — Google review
This place is really good to visit in summer and careful as you walk around little bit slippery. But beautiful
Nimmy J — Google review
One of the best places to see both high and low tides. Ample parking with clean washrooms (9-5). Has a diaper changing table as well! The viewpoint is 2 minutes away from the parking lot. Better take a boot if you are interested to walk on the ocean floor.
Rashed E — Google review
We walked the ocean floor at low tide and it was amazing. Great views, beautiful scenery and lots of crabs. We wore water shoes which was the best option. The tides are incredible. The best part is it's free. Just watch where you walk and be careful.
Doug — Google review
The place is very cozy and not crowded with visitors. The history of the lighthouse and the photographs are very interesting. I missed the low tide so I couldn't walk on the ocean floor. But I still saw a lot of beauty.
Dr. B — Google review
This is a MUST DO for visiting Nova Scotia! We went at low-tide and walked on the ocean floor and went in the caves. It was incredible. Don’t worry too much if you didn’t bring the proper footwear, we wore sandals and running shoes. Just be okay with getting them dirty.
Dea H — Google review
Beautiful place. Very important to wear proper shoes when going down the stairs. There is water to wash shoes off. Benches to sit and enjoy the view, plaques with explanations and informations. Lighthouse can be entered during certain time and climb up. Big gravel parking lot, with designated RV parking. Washrooms available and a little gazebo to sit and enjoy. Lots of green space to have Picknicks.Dog friendly, just keep on leash and clean up after them.Watch the apple trees. As nice as they are apples are falling and “could” maybe hit your head.
Marie — Google review
I came here on a Saturday morning for sunrise. Unfortunately it was too cloudy for any meaningful. Is snow the bed the day before and it felt a little treacherous with some snow cover sections on the roads and I cannot tell in the dark what are there any black ice. There's nobody here other than myself, and the lack of disturbance of the snows suggest that no one had been here recently either. I was met with a fox when I arrived at the park. It quickly scurried away. The snow Addison contrast to what likely would have been a bit of a boring reddish brown ocean floor. I see lots of great photo ops during sunrise and sunset, which unfortunately I did not have time to come back for and the weather was not cooperating.
Eric W — Google review
This place is a gem! A once in a lifetime experience to explore the ocean floor during low tide. We saw lots of tiny shells, sea snails, barnacles and kelp. The trail to the ocean floor is short and very easy to follow. Tips: check out the official tide schedule on the website and come during low tide, pack food and water, and don’t expect to spend too much time in the lighthouse as there is no air circulation and it’s super hot and stuffy at the top. Also bring water shoes.
GG Y — Google review
Incredible. Felt like being on Mars. If you go about 20 minutes to the right of the stairs, there's a mini waterfall and strange grassy field.Definitely be careful of time though. The tide can come in and trap you without notice.
Sarah C — Google review
Beautiful park with great picnic areas and friendly on site staff. Our family had a great time here.
Tom H — Google review
Burntcoat Head Park is absolutely a gem place. Make sure you check the tide timings before you plan your trip. Although it’s recommended to visit both during low and high tide I would recommend to visit during low tide to experience the ocean floor. The walk on the ocean floor is a classic muddy adventure and you get the real feel of how those Guinness record tides can make the floor look. It’s guaranteed that your footwear will be a mess if you wish to go down. There is lot of information about the park on their website and also live web cameras which you can access anytime. Also a lighthouse. Good washrooms. Tons of parking available.Make sure to carry your own food and water if you wish to spend a complete day!
Cyrus A — Google review
Don't expect anything fancy. You park, go down the path to the stairs, and then your on the floor of the Bay of Fundy. No vendors or shops. Great way to spend half day on your trip to Halifax. We timed our visit within 1-2 hours of low tide. We walked around marveling at the fact we were walking at nearly 60 feet below high tide. We walked around the base of an entire island. Definately worth the drive to see this. It's 5 stars because it's an awesome natural wonder that your never going to see anywhere else.
Bart B — Google review
Incredible to walk on the ocean floor. Check the tide schedule, you can walk 3h before and after the low tide. If you have the chance to book a sunset tour guide, I suggest you do it. Had a blast and really nice to see the little creatures. Most beautiful sunset ever. You can go up the lighthouse!!!
Jacynthe T — Google review
A trip out to Nova Scotia is not complete without a visit out to the Bay of Fundy. This park and location was beautiful and picturesque. It was tranquil and serene as you sit and watch the water 💦 slowly rushing back into the bay. You can walk in the floor bed during low tide ( 6-7AM ) and you better be on solid ground by 5PM.There is a lovely gift shop / lighthouse as well here.
Dennis W — Google review
Very interesting tour of the ocean floor. The lighthouse, gift shop and the museum were all pretty small and not too impressive. But the actual place was great. We took a guided tour at low tide and it was great.
Karen L — Google review
Spot of the highest recorded tides in the world, come during low tide for the unique experience of walking out onto the ocean floor, only to come back 6 hours later at high tide to find you can't even get within 100m of where you stood just earlier that morning.Beautiful walk, dog friendly as well. Be sure to read all signs and manage your time however, as it can be dangerous if you stay out passed the recommended time.Be sure to wear shoes you don't mind getting muddy (make sure it has lots of grip), or wet. There is a shoe/foot wash station with supplied brushes for you to clean off afterwards.Park itself is nice and quaint with lots of informational signs and picnic spots with picnic tables. Plenty of free parking. Road up to the park is gravel and has large speed bumps
Brendan L — Google review
Wow! Truly amazing. A great place to see.
Dre K — Google review
Beautiful views of the changing tides and Bay of Fundy. Recommend getting there at low or mid-low tide when walking is possible on the rocky sea floor. Take care walking as the tides come into the area quickly and could potentially get stranded or cut off from the main stairs to the water.
APF M — Google review
We missed low tide on the New Brunswick side of the bay so we decided to stop here on our way home. This was such an amazing experience. As a bonus, it was also free and had a huge parking area. Was better than Hopewell rocks since it wasn't busy and they were less restrictive.
Tyler B — Google review
A very nice place to visit with a beautiful view. Parking and entry is free and they have a decent amount of spaces. They have a small lighthouse/viewpoint that you're allowed to go up to the top in which is very cool. The trails down to the water are quite short and a good distance for all ages. MAKE SURE you don't wear fancy shoes or pants because there WILL be mud once your down by the water. All in all a good place to visit.
Mitchell — Google review
We got to see this place at low tide and then high tide.Since it's the Bay of Fundy - tides are of utmost importance. You need to check and see the tide timings.Parking is free and ample so no cost involved. There is a public washroom there which is clean and easily accessible and visible. They also have a lighthouse where you can go up and see the entire area. It's a steep climb but worth the effort - it's free too.Inside this lighthouse on the walls is a lot of interesting facts too.If you stand at the water long enough you will see the ground disappearing.I have attached pictures for you to see.
Nigel P — Google review
Fantastic views of the Bay of Fundy only an hour from Halifax. There are steps cut into the rock allowing easy access down to the seafloor for an able bodied person.
Magicide — Google review
Great experience like no other to explore the floor of the Bay of Fundy at low tide. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly. We returned after the park closed to check out high tide and watch an amazing sunset.

Sights & Landmarks
The Confederation Bridge is the largest bridge in the world that spans ice-covered waters, connecting Prince Edward Island to New Brunswick. The 12.9-kilometre long bridge was officially opened in May 1997 and is a marvel of civil engineering. It provides a great convenience for travelers as they no longer have to wait for a ferry to reach PEI from New Brunswick.
The bridge has a zero-tolerance policy for speeding and use of a phone and has cameras installed on the route so be very mindful when driving. The bridge is massive and very long.Just after crossing the Bridge when visiting PEI, there's a park from where you can see the entire bridge with a beautiful view that you would like to capture forever.
Nisha A — Google review
The bridge itself is an incredible feat of engineering. It takes about 15 minutes to cross and the view is amazing. We reached PEI and arrived to the Covid testing tents, showed our passports, Covid test results from the US, and our ArriveCAN info. We received a covid test from a very nice nurse and were on our way with instructions promptly. The reason for 3 not 5 stars is the return trip. The toll lanes were not labeled well enough for us to understand how to through in a motorhome. Unfortunately we don't understand French. I had to get out of the motorhome (not much room between the bus and the wall) in a strong wind and ripped open my arm to pay the $48.50 fee. Bad end to a nice trip.
Trish L — Google review
One of the drive that I have always been waiting to do is to drive on the Confederarion Bridge. Great view of the red earth on PEI when you are approaching. Also the scenic view from both ends truly shows how a great engineering masterpiece this is. There is no toll entering the island but you will pay $50.xx upon leaving from the bridge. It is still one amazing drive that I can cross out from my to-drive list.
Wilson F — Google review
It was really neat crossing the bridge. It felt safe and well maintained. There are spots on both ends you can stop and take photos but no stopping on the bridge. There is a toll when you leave the island.
Vanessa B — Google review
Nice if you’ve never been but nothing grandiose. Can’t see off the bridge no no real sights. There used to be stops at entrance where you could take pics of the length of the bridge and a gift shop there. I didn’t see anything at all this time.
Michele C — Google review
Yay, JJ was here to see the bridge in 2016! Nice view under the sunshine.
Kan H — Google review
Very impressive! The confederation bridge is the longest bridge in the world and an engineering marvel! It is 8 miles long built over the high sees that freezes in the winter. It is free to cross to the island but there's a fee of approx CAD$50 to leave the island.Unfortunately if you're driving a sedan you can't see much on either side while driving because of the approx 4 feet high walls on both sides. However once you arrive on the island you can make a right turn and there os an area that you can park and see the bridge that you just crossed.
Abi M — Google review
If you are traveling to PEI or so happen to be close to the bridge, this is a must stop at place to see the bridge. It's massive!!Crossing it is nice but he warned you'll be paying 50$ to cross back into New Brunswick. It's a great experience and there's a lighthouse in the distance to look at if you like those as well!
Mr R — Google review
Signage isn't the best and it's expensive to just go across and come back (for the experience / say you've done it). Theres absolutely nothing to do on the New Brunswick side without driving for quite awhile but the photo ops are better. It was amazing though to drive; recognizing it for the engineering feat that it is.
Wendy C — Google review
A marvel of civil engineering and a great convenience being able to come and go to/from PEI without having to wait for a ferry.Free to drive on to PEI...$48.50 CAD exit toll for a passenger car (2021)
James C — Google review
Drive over the bridge for the first time today. That felt surreal to be finally here. The views are so beautiful. It's quite the experience. We turned right off the bridge and took some pics there.
Nique B — Google review
The drive on the bridge is beautiful overlooking the water on both sides. The only bad part is quite a high toll when you leave PEI . You do not pay anything when you enter PEI but you do have to pay the toll when leaving , no matter how many times you do that in a day. There is no 24hour pass or anything as of now. The only convenience for frequent travellers is that they can leave island through the express lane where they do automatic scan and deduct money rather than you having to stand at the window each time to pay. The prices vary depending on the kind of vehicle. Its 50.25$ for the 2-axle vehicles like cars or light trucks.
Param S — Google review
It was my first time driving through the bridge. The structural design while on the bridge is ordinary, but off the bridge, the view is awesome! There's a toll on the way back from the island.
Yllas P — Google review
This is the longest bridge which was built on cold water ocean, and also the longest bridge in Canada, and the only way enter Prince Edward Island without use ferry. Just the toll is soooooo expensive! Only collect toll in out-island direction, and it cost $51.25!!
Hanhua G — Google review
Confederation bridge it is really a marvelous structure by humans... 12km long with 190m with single structure.... but you can only enjoy the view in semi trucks, buses and high vehicles... for the cars its just look like a normal bridge....and I am truck driver and cross this bridge 5 to 6 time in a week...
Kawal — Google review
Free to get on the island, $50 to leave, worth every dime. Loved it and will be back one day! Thank you PEI for the lovely time and great hospitality! Those that don’t like to pay the $50. Go take the ferry!Much love from Alberta to PEI!
Mark P — Google review
Passed through it early May 2023, the toll fee was $50.25 paid by credit card. It runs about 8 miles (13 km) and it's truly an engineering marvel. It's a beautiful bridge that's very well-maintained very smooth. Going back to PEI, we were able to take a detour to take a picture of the bridge. It's quite a sight!
Ruichi — Google review
18km bridge , beautiful views. Crossing to PEI was free. It has a one way fare of 50$ getting out of the island.
Dr. S — Google review
A modern engineering marvel. The bridge is tall and long. It gets quite windy on the bridge so drive carefully. I would recommend taking the time to drive over and see PEI
David N — Google review
It's a cool bridge. No stopping though so if you want pictures, wait until you get across the bridge. There is an info centre where you can drive up to and get photos.
Cheyla B — Google review
What a beautiful journey in and out of PEI. You feel like you are floating in air over the ocean, breathing in the fresh salty air. While there’s no charge to get into PEI, you do get charged to use the bridge on your way out. Love it!
Vinit D — Google review
My father consulted on this bridge design when it was being proposed over 20 years ago and it is truly an engineering marvel. 25 km in length and high above the sea level, it is has great views of the ocean and you can look forward and back at the bridge itself which is fantastic. There is no cost to going onto PEI, but it costs $50 per car when you leave the island. The bridge is single lane, but there is little traffic and generally cars are not speeding as they seem to be enjoying the unique experience.
Christopher N — Google review
I am sure the bridge is an engineering marvel and a must-see at least once, but it was a little underwhelming. If you are not in a truck or SUV, you look at the concrete barrier the whole way.
J B — Google review
Such a long bridge, very well taken with great focus and excellent detail, Julie!! Love the fantastic information provided!!
Jr N — Google review
Exciting drive over the bridge, beautiful views of PEI and New Brunswick, but it'll cost you 50.25$ to leave by bridge, so plan ahead!
BRIGITTE R — Google review
Great bridge connecting New Brunswick and PEI - it's 12.9km long, and will cost you ~$50 for a standard vehicle to get across. There's a max speed, so would generally take around 10 minutes to get across. The toll is collected when leaving PEI, and counts as the round trip payment.
Mat B — Google review
The bridge is great and there is a little park to the east side before you get to the bridge. Although winter we were able to walk around and check it out. I imagine based on the number of shops closed up for the season that summer would be hopping. The bridge is one lane each way with no passing. It was beautiful in the winter to take in the scenery and I imagine summer would be majestic.
Wanda J — Google review
Scariest thing I've done in my 61 years. 8 miles long and very high. When you enter it you can barely see the opposite shore and you feel like your about to drive into the ocean. I am afraid of heights. Those who aren't will have fun with my comments I'm sure, but if you are as well you have been warned. Absolutely do not be the driver.
Bob H — Google review
50$ fee is far less than what the island has to offer. Stunning As always.

Helps to save time instead of using the ferry. The $50 charge to use a bridge/road is quite steep; even for the convenience.

Wild Time and one of the highlights of our Vacation. Water was warmer then expected. We used their old used shoes provided as we only flip flops which are not allowed.Waves are intense, we lucked out going just after a full moon. Kids 8 and 10 loved it. We did the 2hour run but thought after we would of loved the 4 hour choice for more waves. Our guide 'K' was amazing and fun.Go for the intense choice.

My friend and I went for her birthday and had the best time! Our guide was Miles, and he did a great job driving us into the waves and even circled around so my friend could get a photo with the canon. The mud sliding was a lot of fun, and getting to have a quick shower after was wonderful.

Lots of fun with the Shubbies on the river! Had never heard of tidal bore rafting before, and it was both an adventure and lots of fun! No compromise on security. Just the right amount of knowledge sharing. And lots of brown water!

We had a great day on the water today! Lucked out with some big waves after the recent lunar activity. Beth our guide was knowledgeable, energetic and friendly. When it was over our 11 year old asked if we could go again tomorrow! It won’t be tomorrow but we will be back.

Very well organized and a ton of fun! Miles could spot every eagle on the river and was sure to drive us into the biggest waves. 10/10, would do again.

Gotdamm this is an amazing activity! The owner is super friendly and knowledgeable, and so are the staff. This company goes earlier, stays later, and seems to have the best waves, and sense of timing. They are super fun, and probably should charge more than the competition, mostly because they are that much better.Fred, I hope you read this, not only are you fun but your amazing. You made it extra fun, and were certainly very down to earth. The only complaint I have is the water….. it’s too brown. Oh and the mud, it’s too dirty.

Me and my parents had a blast with the B trip, having at least 4 rounds of tidal bore fun before going mudsliding! I had never heard of mudsliding until we got to that mud covered beach but it was hilarious and surprisingly easy to slip down one of the self carved slopes and belly flop into cool water. I would recommend sitting at the front of the boat for the best experience (splash zone!) during the ride!

We had such a good time all day! I highly recommend getting the full 4 hours, so that you can see the whole phenomenon of the water rising and the explanation and everything! It was a huge part of our appreciation of the day! We were with Nina all day and she was wonderful! Thank you again for everything!😊

Had an amazing 3 hr ride there yesterday. Staff was super friendly and professional. I felt completely safe the entire time. Jason was a lot of fun to ride with. He loves his job, and it shows. Hot showers and hot chocolate after getting positively drenched were the cherry on top! Would recommend to all.

I've been out twice in 2019 and also in previous seasons. Always a great time. Highly recommended. Shubenacadie River Runners' guides have been consistently good and all three levels of ride are entertaining. The Super Wild Ride, though, is my favorite.

The path to the falls is beautiful and there are many trails if you like hiking. This place would make for a wonderful pre wedding shoot location.

Victoria Park is a true gem in the heart of the city. The lush green trees and beautiful waterfalls create a peaceful oasis in the midst of the hustle and bustle of daily life. I always feel rejuvenated after a visit to this park and highly recommend it to anyone in need of a little nature therapy. The walking trails are well-maintained and offer a variety of scenic routes to choose from. Overall, Victoria Park is a must-see for anyone visiting the area.

This is one of the greatest parks in the area and (in our opinion) the province - it just has so many amazing features like: hills, lookouts, staircases, gazebos, waterfalls, gorges, creeks and rivers, numerous trails, picnic areas, exercise area, and sports/play fields! Definitely worth visiting multiple times just due to the amount of various activities possible.

**Great Park with Stunning Features**Victoria Park is a fantastic destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts. It boasts a large playground and a designated barbecue area, making it ideal for picnics and gatherings. The park features an extensive trail path perfect for hiking, offering breathtaking views of the amazing waterfront. Whether you're looking to enjoy a day out with the kids or take in the natural beauty, Victoria Park has something for everyone.

This park is about 130 years old. It’s a beautiful well maintained urban woodland park spans across 3000 acres. It has many boardwalks. These boardwalks make waterfalls Waddell and Howe are easily accessible and provide an exciting backdrop for photos of family and friends. It has washrooms but this park is not very wheelchair friendly.Very tall pine trees and lots of squirrels and birds. It has a good parking lot and many entrances. If you are looking for some workout, you might wanna check out Jacob's ladder(147 steps) and some pull up bars at the top. All steps aren't the same size. It is open all year, but late spring and early summer would be ideal time to visit this park, as water levels would be at its highest. It is about a one and half hour drive from downtown Halifax. It's a beautiful and dynamic urban park. I love it for its natural features, including a dramatic steep-sided gorge, a winding river, cascading waterfalls, and a stately old-growth Eastern Hemlock forest. This place offers endless recreational, cultural and leisure opportunities. These include hiking, photography, birdwatching, day picnics, family gatherings, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, swimming, baseball, cultural events, live music, tennis, cycling and more.If you are in Nova Scotia, and if you are a nature lover, I highly recommend going there.

Very well kept, be prepared for a lot of stairs if you want to explore the whole park. A lot of different trails you can explore. Cannot believe how beautiful and well kept the overall park is for the amount of people who visit. Climbing the stairs and walking along the trails up top have awesome views rather than just walking down below. Atleast two waterfalls to be seen as well.

Enjoyed the hike despite the cloudy drizzling weather. Visited Joe Howe Falls, the Waddell Falls and Wood Street Lookout. The path to Five Corners was closed today, so we didn’t get to see it. If we visit Truro again next time, we will come back to the park to explore the other areas.BTW, we were lucky to come across two deers during our hiking.

Beautiful park with loads and loads of different trails to walk. Some on hard ground, some on dirt, and some on timber walkways. Also some lovely little waterfalls with pools you can take a dip in. The grounds were beautifully maintained. A real hidden gem in the city.

This park turned out to be a real find on the way to Halifax. Big park where you can spend the whole day. The waterfalls were almost without water due to the dry season. But the area is very beautiful, well-groomed, with beautiful paths and stairs.

Victoria Park is gorgeous. Beautiful well kept walking paths and lawns. Lots of picnic tables for families or couples. Picnic on the grass in shade along the streams running alongside the walkway. There's a swimming pool. Pickle balls courts, play areas for kids, music bandstand, BBQ area is covered and with screens to keep out the bugs! Oh wait! There's many trails to choose from along with Jacobs Ladder! I dare ya to try it 😁

I did not expect this place to be so amazing because it’s in the middle of the city! They have tons of trails and they were pretty easy to navigate, well maintained so you can easily spend a whole day here. There are picnic tables out in front and some places to set up inside the park as well. I loved the loops and the hikes. They were unique despite being in the middle of an urban area. Must try the loop around the dam. 5/5 recommend. It also has a biking trail but we didn’t go on it.

Lovely park with waterfalls, hiking trails, a playground for kids, and lots of greenery. Short walk to the waterfalls that is mostly accessible, just near the end there are a few tree roots that make it a bit more challenging for pushing a stroller. Waterfalls are pretty nice, not the biggest in the world but fun to see. The kids playground has a lot of nice swings including an adult and child swing so you can swing together with your kiddo. Lots of parking here, bathrooms, and spots to picnic.

This wonderful park, which has a beautiful stream and waterfalls, is perfect for a hike. While the damage from last year's post-tropical storm Fiona is still visible (see some of the pictures below), the gorgeous greenery is still quite impressive. You can also find a children's playground, tennis courts, baseball diamond, and outdoor pool at Victoria Park.

Truly a beautiful park, all the boardwalks everywhere remind me of vancouver island. There is a ton of awesome trails to hike, multiple waterfalls and several neat bridges to cross! We come here with our dog all the time and have had no issues with anyone. Parking is never a problem either. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Lovely park with no entry fee. You can get to the falls if you walk all the way to the end and avoid the stairs. The water looks pristine. Near the falls, you can actually go for a swim if you'd like. They just advise against diving or jumping.Note that the stairs are a single beam of wood. These are very thin stairs. Take your time going up and down. There are plenty of benches located throughout the park, so don't worry about needing to find a spot to catch your breath or to eat a snack.

This place is Truro's best kept secret! What a lovely park with some lovely views of waterfalls. There are so many trail options that you could spend hours here. A few of the trails were damaged earlier this year in heavy rains so they were closed off until they can repair them, but even so, it was worth the time we took to stop and explore here. They also had lots of washrooms. Some of the stairs are a bit steep but they're not too bad if you just go slow and take your time.

A very nice and scenic ferry from Nova Scotia to Prince Edward Island and vice versa. Its better to book this beforehand through their website to make sure you get a spot in the ferry. The ferry has nice food and drinks option to relish. Enjoy the ferry.

We had a pleasant ferry trip. No delays, no inconveniences, all good. The ferries are quite huge and have several decks for motorcycles, cars, SUVs, pickups, lorries and big trucks. On board you can buy something to eat, sit and watch the panorama or walk around (also outside).

Trip this time was not so good, the top passenger deck is closed off so they only have the restaurant area open and no dog allowed. It's to cold to be outside.

We booked a 10am crossing. We left Charlottetown early and saved driving time by taking Hwy 23 and Selkirk Rd rather than Trans Canada (saving 10 minutes). As a result, we literally were able to drive right on to the 8:30 am ferry crossing, the second to last vehicle to board. The seas were calm, and the sky was sunny. Yesterday morning, we heard the early crossing was canceled due to bad weather. Lucky us.

I've always loved taking the ferries between PEI and NS from the time that I was child travelling with my parents to adulthood and as a Professional Truck Driver for 30 years, it was always a nice little break from the road and have a meal with a hot cup of coffee, little did I know that I would eventually become an employee. I have been working at Northumberland Ferries now for 6 years and I really enjoy the company, the ships, and the amazing coworkers that I have the privilege of working alongside of everyday.Sure the bridge is there now for those who just want to get from point A to B and back again, but to travel on-board a ship of over 5000 tons of displacement is the ultimate maritime experience and rest assured, all crew members are trained Fire Fighters with extensive training at emergency drills twice per week, so you are certainly in good hands with these well trained professional ferry operators.

This was my first time on a ferry so I wasn't sure what to expect. The scenery is lovely. It was cold outside, but sitting inside was comfortable. There is a small restaurant on board. We got back into our car without any issues. Very smooth. This ferry runs from Caribou NS to Woods Island PEI. It takes 75 minutes. This is not a luxurious ride, but quite serviceable. The views were great. Nice foods 😊💕😊💕

Perfect experience. We reserved the spot online to be safe. There were not much traffic onboarding today on a weekday. No delays and hassles at all. The tables and seats make me feel like being back to school. Everything met expectation. I had fido cellular service available all along the route. The only different thing I noticed was that the access to the car will be blocked during the crossing compared to BC Ferries.

We were aboard a different ferry going to PEI than coming back. The first ferry may have been older. The passage was cancelled on the day we wanted to go, but we got there next morning.WOW, that first ride was bumpy, so much so that another passenger remarked, "We hit a whale that time!" It was choppy outside, and hard to keep our balance. We made it in one piece, though! The returning ferry was the newer bigger one. The ride rocked back and forth, was dizzying. At least we had a place to sit! I could get some pictures of the decks outside that time. So cool!I wasn't happy that we couldn't take the elevator to our car, since it hurts the knees going up or down all those stairs. They just need to add clear signage of what the elevators are for, and which side to be on for certain parking areas.Still, what a cool trip! I recommend the ferry, and should it be cancelled, there are cabins and other lodging nearby in Pictou. Try Lionstone!

Missed a ferry in very poor fashion. This outcome could have been dealt with more professionally. I will say after missing a ferry after being placed in an incorrect lineup upon arrival the manager quickly reacted and apologized in person. We had an event to attend which we missed because of this error and I wish the company would have at least covered our ferry fair. Unfortunately not though. Once aboard the kids had a blast and the staff was very nice. Food was good too!

Whether you need to cross the ocean to the island or not. Such nice crew on the ferry!!! We just go round trip for fun same day. Love it love it, food is so good and Cows ice cream is the best. Live music too!!! It's a nice mini boat cruise I say 75mins one way. 85 bucks for the car, 22 for passenger only round trip. It's good price. Everyone seems quite happy working there. Northumberland, thank you so so much!!! Coming back!!!

We chose to ride the ferry for the experience. You can pay just to walk on and not being your car. There is a small cafe on board. We enjoyed, salad, sausages, and more. The view was enjoyable standing on the front of the ferry, although very windy.

Quick and efficient. They got everybody loaded on board and departed precisely on schedule. Once on board the food service folks got us our order in no time at all. The passenger seating is spacious with large windows for great views of the Northumberland straight. There was a pretty stiff northeast wind blowing on our crossing so the ship was rolling gently side to side. Crossing conditions may vary greatly though. Arrived ahead of schedule and unloaded as quickly as we loaded. Great experience all around!

Beautiful wood work, gorgeous setting. Realistic displays, if you’re trying to escape the heat there is no air conditioning it’s quite warm when you get up to the top level but worth it to stand on the balcony and take in the breath taking views ! A piece of history being rebuilt is quite awe inspiring. The ship itself is such an ambitious task ! I recently broke an ankle so wasn’t able to partake in the interior of the ship belly, but I peaked down the steps , great experience for the able bodied people ! Affordable, educational, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable! Would return ! 4 star only because it’s not air conditioned and it would be nice to have a tour guide through the museum !

Nice museum outlining the history of a historic voyage to Nova Scotia. It describes things well and underscores the importance of this trip for the history of Nova Scotia. Unfortunately a lightning strike hit the mast and ruined a good portion of the boat. I have seen it in better days, see pictures in other reviews, but was saddened to its state now. Work has been set back a lot.

Seeing this beautiful ship and the excellent museum is a must whether you're a visitor from the States like me or a Canadian. The immense size of this magnificent ship must be seen to be appreciated. And the art of shipbuilding is alive and well in Pictou. The staff in the gift shop was great....They're knowledgeable....friendly...and proud of the Hector. It was my privilege to spend the day there.

Love the museum and the history. They had actors playing parts of the people on the ships and the ship itself was such an education. Outside the grounds, you can find a monument to the Scottish travellers who arrived on the ship and started their lives in Nova Scotia, encouraging other Scots to follow in their paths. Very fun and educational to visit while in Pictou.

Fantastic setup and displays. Lots of information to read and learn about life of the settlers before they came over, and the harsh trip across the ocean to a hard life in the new world. Seeing the ship being restored is a once in a lifetime experience.

An amazing part of history here, very near and dear to the local community. A shame they didn't keep up with the replica ship. When I was here 10 years ago it was afloat in the water and you got to check it out. Really brought to light what our ancestors faced coming to the new land.

Small museum which describes in good detail the history of the first Scottish people in Nova Scotia. Good to spend 1-2 hours with family. The ship itself is overrated.

The board walk around the nautical museum, is picturesque even under cloudy skies. The museum itself is well maintained and includes a tour of "the Hector," a replica boat that brought the first immigrants over from Scotland. One can also visit the workshops of the blacksmiths and carpenters involved in building the replica. I was amazed at the craft- menship of the wood carvings, really beautiful. The only drawback is the odour in the air outside, along the board walk. It could be the pulp mill across the water ruining the experience .

Recreation of the first Scottish immigrants who weekend the freedoms to preserve their cultural heritage and a better life in the new world. The ship landed in Pictou where the site is. You get a chance to see how they endured the hardship during the voyage. 189 persons cramped in the vessel more than 2 months in the rough sea. Sadly this recreation of the Hector now has shown sign of wood rot and will need a major restoration soon

Private charters and customized tours are also available, as well as special 4-hour wedding packages.
Went fishing for mackerel today - there was 10 people on our boat and we caught 30 fish! Captains Perry & Art were amazing Guides. They taught us a lot about the fish, lobsters and crabs and their boat is very clean and well kept. After fishing they filleted and cooked the fish right on the boat! It was delicious!

Great time!ExperienceCaptain Perry and the crew were all so nice. The boat is clean and very organized. We learned a lot about the different types of fish/ aquatic farming in the region. They provide binoculars, snacks and drinks. We luckily caught enough to have a bbq. It was delicious! There were about 10-11 people on board not including the crew (3). You could tell they were very good with children and very attentive to the younger folks on board.SightseeingWe saw a bald eagle from the boat, seals, seagulls, jellyfish, geese and of course we caught some mackerel! The water was nice and though the waters were not that calm we never felt sea sick.FishingWe went for the 1pm tour. We heard captain Perry mention the first tour (morning) caught about 40 fish. Our group caught 12! A stark difference. I suppose it’s a luck of the draw and I’m assuming less bite during the pm. It was still a great time. I caught 2 and my husband caught 1. They chum the fish to help but as with most fishing luck does play a large role!I would highly recommend this tour. We’ve been on other tours with a lot more people. This intimate setting is far more enjoyable and everyone was very kind.

We had a great time on this boat charter. Our entire boat caught mackerel, about 45 in total and then we had them BBQ on the boat. It was so delicious. Captain Perry and Art were a great team. I would definitely recommend this fishing adventure.

If I could leave 10/5 stars, I would. Captain Perry involved our family in a lobster haul, and provided an interactive experience that consisted of holding a lobster and crab. They even asked my 11 year old daughter if she wanted to drive the boat- complete with a captain hat!Captain Perry had some family on the boat who were so accommodating and provided freshly steamed mussels, snacks, warm blankets, and spent so much time chatting with us. One even went into the water to fetch us a starfish after telling her how much I’d love to see one! These ladies were the sweetest! There is a bathroom on board, and comfortable chairs to sit on while out on the tour. There is also a covered area on the boat in case it rains. The day we went out the weather was perfect, as was the experience. We chose the Lighthouse and Seal Tour which took us past Panmure Island lighthouse with deep red sand cliffs and past a raft full of adorable seals sunning themselves. This experience was well worth the money, and a must do when visiting PEI.

We had a wonderful experience! Captain Perry and his crew were a great bunch of people, and they ensured our kids had a blast. They even hooked a fish on our boys rods so they thought they caught something.Even though the fish weren’t biting, we had a lot of fun. I think the boat only caught 5 mackerel, so we didn’t have enough for a bbq. This is not deep sea fishing, but a relaxed fishing experience in the river. We learned about crab, lobster and mussels. After doing this tour, we took the kids deep sea fishing, and this tour is much better for young kids or anyone who is worried about being sea sick. We do wish the tour was slightly longer. Overall, a wonderful morning and would do it again! Thanks Perry, Spencer and crew :)

Our trip with Perry and Art was really fun and informative. We couldn't catch much fish because it was too early in the season but learning about the lobsters, crabs and mussels was still fun. And we got to see porpoises and seals! I think what made the difference to us was that they were still open while all other deep sea fishing companies were closed this early in the season.

A fantastic morning spent on a boat and wading around digging clams. The crew, Captain Perry, Art and Kadin, we’re very attentive and helped our kids (ages 10, 13) find and dig up clams. We had a clam boil on the beach and then a tour afterwards. Wear your bathing suit, be prepared to get wet and have fun. All equipment was provided. Boat and equipment were provided, everything was spotless. Perry shared local history and knowledge of the area.

We all enjoyed so much with TCA crews! Thanks to Captain Perry, as well as Spencer (who told us a lot about lobster, mussels, and crab industry of PEI), Cindy (who assisted us in fishing, and grilling the yummy mackerels) and Art (with excellent fillet cutting skills!!)I had done a lot of research before I booked TCA and I had never regretted doing so! Probably the only boat tour that offers on-boat-fish-grilling in PEI! Georgetown is a hidden gem as well, more ppl should know about this apart from North Rustico. The whole crew was super friendly and knowledgeable! All my family members could get mackerels (though some maybe too small and we need to put them back to the sea), we will definitely recommend to all our friends who visit this beautiful island.

We joined Captain Perry and his crew (family members!) for the best on-water outing we had during our 2 week trip to the Canadian east coast. Perry met us up on the street to ensure we parked the car in an appropriate place, escorted us to the boat and the adventure began! We learned about mussel farming, lobster trapping, crab trapping, then fished with our own lines, for mackerel. The entire crew is hugely knowledgeable - we learned so much and a blast doing it. Interact with the crew and they'll interact with you! By far the most educational and fun on the water we experienced during our time in PEI.

We had a clam digging tour with Captain Perry and his crew, and it was nothing short of amazing! Everyone was so helpful throughout the excursion, and ensured everyone in the party was able to participate. We had a party of 11, all of various ages/activity levels, and a handful of little ones (ranging from ages 11 to 3). Everyone had such an awesome time learning about the mussels, lobsters and crabs, and digging for clams. Because we had so many little ones in our group, Captain Perry and his crew took us to a more shallow beach where the kids could have the full experience too. Everyone was so hands-on and helpful. Thanks again to Captain Perry and his crew, I would certainly partake in this excursion again and recommend it to anyone visiting PEI!

Unfortunately he no longer provides that experience so this time we signed up for the deep sea fishing experience. It was a lot of fun even though I didn't catch anything. We learned a lot about mussels, lobsters and crabs and we got to est the fish that was caught on the boat. They were also really great with my kids and helped my 3 year old learn to fish! I'd definitely recommend anyone visiting the island to check them out!

An absolutely lovely experience with Captain Perry and crew! They made sure our two children under 3 and ourselves had a truly enjoyable time - they even provided a small fishing pole and arranged for our oldest child to “catch” a fish. We learned about the fishing industry (mussels, lobster, and crab) and caught our own mackerel which was deliciously barbecued for us right on board. Great people and great experience. Highly recommend!

Had an amazing time with Perry, Cindy and Riley on the boat! Catching and eating mackerel right there on the water was an incredible experience and one I can’t wait to do again next time I’m in PEI! The educational aspect was fun and informative and I came away with a deeper appreciation for all the animals we were shown and interacted with!

Our deep sea fishing experience was definitively one of our favorite activity in PEI! Captain Perry and his crew were fantastic; friendly, knowledgable and helpful. We learned a lot and enjoyed fishing a lot. We would definitively recommend this activity!

We had such a nice experience with Captain Perry, Art and Cindy! We learned a lot about fishing, lobsters, crabs and farming mussels. The view is beautiful and the tour is well organized. We would do it again in a heartbeat!

Absolutely amazing experience! Educational portions, physical activity, boat rides, we saw seals, clam cookout on the beach, drinks and snacks, fantastic service and stories from captain and crew! 10/10 would do again!!

My family and I had a fabulous time on the deep sea fishing adventure.Perry, Spencer, and Art were super friendly as they taught us about muscles, lobsters, rock crabs, seal and mackerel. Great attention to detail was paid to guests comfort and the cleanliness of the boat.Mackerel was bbqed on board and was delightful.Thank you for a great experience!

Deep Sea Fishing was one of the best activities we did in PEI! We were a group of three generations (my parents and us with our 8 and 10 years old children), and we all enjoyed the experience very much. Staff were amazing and we also learned fun facts about lobsters and mussels. Highly recommended.

Hi from Ontario. Just wanted to take a few minutes to thank the entire crew again for how awesome each of you were to all of us. Really appreciated how welcome everyone made the three of us feel on your boat and letting our daughter drive the boat briefly! Anyone looking for an incredible family experience, this is the one!

What a fantastic experience! Perry and his crew made us feel like part of the family. My 10 and 12 year old also had a great time, the highlight of our trip this far. Perfect amount of clams, crabs, lobsters, seals, boats and eagles! Strongly recommend.

Fun experience! The crew and captain are all very nice and knowledgeable. Good explanation of lobster, crab and mussel fishing. They BBQ the fish that we caught for us to eat and we also got to see some cute seals! There is also a toilet on board. Definitely recommend this experience!

Clam digging tour was our highlight of trip. Perry, Spencer and Art was great in making our experience a wonderful one. They were very detailed in explaining everything and made sure all the guest was safe and had a good time. They even provided dental floss 😊, for anyone to use after eating all the clams. Perry has been doing this for over 15 years and clams/crabs we ate raw and cooked was so fresh and delicious. 😋😋😋This is a must try as not many, if any, excursions offer the experience spotting of digging and finding clams under the sand.

My daughter and I had a fantastic time on TCA’s 2 hour BBQ fishing trip! Captain Perry, Spencer, Art, and Cindy gave everyone on board a wonderful experience from start to finish. Spencer was so knowledgeable about the PEI fishing industry and made learning about it really fascinating. Eating the freshest fish I have ever tasted was the perfect bow on this gift of a tour!

Sherbrooke Village, located east of Halifax, offers a glimpse into the bustling life of a 19th-century village centered around timber, tall ships, and the gold rush. With 25 original buildings along the St. Marys River, visitors can immerse themselves in pre-1900s living. Costumed interpreters showcase various crafts like blacksmithing and weaving while allowing guests to try their hand at these skills.
Great place to bring the family and spend the day. You can dress in period costume and have tons of fun. There is a restaurant on site for lunch and tons of buildings to explore. Local artisans work in front of your eyes and thier crafts are for sale in the gift shop. Most amazing of all is old fashioned Christmas it is a must go, no matter where your from. There is also a motorcycle run weekend, a car show weekend and concerts by amazing musicians.

Interesting experience walking through the village learning about the history of the village. Lots of old items to view in each house and the people really do well playing the characters of 1867.

Absolutely loved it. So many different buildings to go through, all staffed with very knowledgeable and talented individuals demonstrating how things were done/made back in the 1800s such as pottery, printing, woodturning, blacksmith etc. Buildings are authentic and actually in their original locations. I was very impressed with the village, and how friendly and informative everyone was. The Canada Day parade was really fun too, and I loved how it went right through the village! We look forward to returning!

The staff at this village is the best by far. They interact, have a great sense of humour, and you get to sample oatcake, tea biscute, rubbarb cake, and jam. If you are lucky, you may get to try homemade butter. Fascinating place, artifacts, and history in a small village within a village.

If you have a biracial or black family, I suggest skipping it. We specifically picked Sherbrooke to take our god children to because it offered a dress up experience. You could pay an extra fee and dress up in period clothes for the day.Despite calling in advance, despite having a staff member available, despite advertising the experience online and no appointments for the day, we were told that we could not dress up because only one staff member was available. From the moment the dressing lady saw our biracial family the excuses began. She gave the kids the up and down look over, then looked at me and my husband with disgust. We were told to go back to the front office and make an appointment . So we went back and attempted to book an appointment. One kind lady at the front desk said absolutely, let them pay and send then over for the experience. I was shown the apt book that showed zero appointments for the day.Despite the one customer service rep saying it was not a problem, the other lady started with the excuses. She said she can’t book an appointment without talking to the lady in the dressing house first. She was calling all around but couldn’t reach anyone. She said she wouldn’t take our payment until she confirmed with the lady in the dressing house that she would accommodate us. Since the lady in the dressing house wasn’t answering the phone, we were told to follow her back to the dressing house and wait outside. After some time, the front desk lady returned and said “we can’t help you. We only have 1 lady working here and she can’t dress four people.” Now keep in mind, our littlest godchild, did not want to dress up. So they were saying that 1 lady could not help dress a 6 year and two adults with a open schedule. They did not offer to only dress the child but outright refused. Then the front desk lady asked if we could return tomorrow. She already knew we drove from Ontario. Not to mention, the park is closed Tues and Wednesdays. My heart was breaking because I have my biracial godchildren holding my hands throughout this whole experience. They are seeing the looks from the clearly racist staff members unwilling to allow us to buy the dress up experience. The oldest unfortunately appeared to already understand what was happening. She at 6 years old is already fully aware of racism and is stronger and more resilient than me. I eventually ended up hiding in the washroom in tears at what was happening. We tried to shake it off and enjoy the other exhibits as we waited for my long time friend to arrive with her family. We drove almost 3 hour from Halifax to visit Sherbrooke Village. While in the park, we visited the bakery where the family before us was offered and accepted some baked goods! We walked in with now 5 kids since my friends arrived and cookies were coming out of the oven. We asked if the kids could have a cookie & were told: “no, they were too hot”. At the end of our visit, we were approach by the manager who offered to dress all 4 of us now and give us a free $80 picture. She apologized but still claimed they didn’t have the capacity to dress us.How can they dress 4 people for a photo in the same period clothes now, later in the day, when it’s busier, with the same one staff member - who refused to help us? I told her I believed her staff were racist and refused to help us because our family was biracial. I told her we were not interested in the free photo. The manager did not seem to care. She said sorry and “I hope you have a nice day.”If you are thinking about visiting this establishment this was our experience.

Had no previous knowledge about this place but expected a typical pioneer village with buildings brought together from various places to create a village. Delighted to find it to be an original village with the buildings in their original places. Many are in original condition with original finishes. We spent 4 hours, bought some beautiful villager made items in the gift store, ate a wholesome lunch and left feeling well satisfied.

We took a day trip on our vacation stay at Liscombe Lodge and had an amazing experience. We have visited a few times in the past but I must say this time it was over the top special. Every shop we went into was in full theatrical mode, the stories, the dress, the staff were on point. Huge shout out to the Temperance ladies, the store keeper, the saw mill gents and the black smith shop who sent us home with a special gift as they put their craft on display.

The Village is fantastic. The staff all working together this last summer was such a wonderful service. The activities for both children and adults was amazing. We were lucky enough to be present on the day of a dog show as well as the Saturday market, which were both lovely surprises. The food in their café was fabulous, and the service was tremendous. We enjoyed exploring all the buildings and talking to the staff about the Village. Can't say enough good things. We will definitely be back.

The Celtic Music Interpretive Centre is a captivating destination on Cape Breton Island that offers an immersive experience for visitors interested in the significance of Celtic music. The center features interactive exhibits, historical information, and hands-on opportunities with various instruments, including the fiddle. Guests can also explore vintage instruments, learn about different music genres, study Gaelic, and even try traditional dances.
August 28, 2023 UPDATE: We had a great lunch at the Celtic Music Centre this afternoon! The seafood chowder, served with a warm tea biscuit was "delicious", the spinach salad was fresh and tasty ... and the turtle cheesecake divine (the slice was not too large, not too small ... just right). Really enjoyed the live music by Donna Marie DeWolfe (fiddler) and Amanda MacDougall (piano). Our server was lovely and we were greeted with a welcoming smile!August 27, 2021 - I had a wonderful dining and music experience at Judique’s unique Celtic Music Centre (CMIC) on Friday, August 27, 2021. Everything on the menu looked tempting, so I opted for the “Piper’s Burger” with a side of fries (photo). The meal was generous ... and delicious (I especially appreciated the option to select a gluten-free hamburger bun).During my dining time at the centre, I enjoyed their “Lunch Time Ceilidh” featuring well-known local musicians Shelly Campbell and Cathy Hawley (photo). After lunch I visited the gift store (photos) and took a little tour of the interactive exhibit room that highlights the history of Cape Breton music (photos). The Ceilidh Pub staff were friendly, warm and fun! (photo).Overall, the Celtic Music Centre is a grand place to visit for great food, wonderful music, a lovely gift shop, interesting exhibition, and friendly, engaging staff. If you are travelling up or down Hwy 19, I’d highly recommend it!

The morning musical walking tour was a complete waste of money, 25$ a person to walk 20 minutes each way on a public trail and listen to 5-10 minutes of fiddle by the water's edge. The museum is tiny but interesting. Food is excellent especially the chowder.

The Glenora Inn & Distillery in Nova Scotia is a whisky distillery that offers rooms and chalets. It also has a pub where guests can enjoy drinks and snacks. The inn dates back to the 1800s and is popular for its laid-back atmosphere.
We visited Summer of 2017. Wanted to go back but after the pandemic hit was unable to. There is not a spot more beautiful than the land this distillery sits on. The employees are top notch, the facilities are mesmerizing. If anyone is on the fence about whether they want to go; I fully recommend this destination!

Stunning location, overall amazing experience. We booked the pub for dinner and there was live music, great food, very reasonably priced. Got breakfast boxes for the next morning and ate them outside our room (we stayed in the brookside). Did the tour the next morning, which was very informative. Will definitely recommend to anyone coming to NS and will return myself!

My family and I went for a birthday dinner. I hate giving a negative review for a local place, but, unfortunately, I have to.The service was terrible. Very unprofessional. Slow. She gave us the excuse she was busy with other tables. Then, the food was disappointing. My fish cakes were tasteless. No salt! And, when I asked the waitress to share my feedback with the kitchen she told me she was really surprised because no one else had complained about the food before. She basically argued with me, instead of accepting my feedback and passing it along. My 7 yr old was done eating, but my 5 year old was in the middle of eating her tasteless pasta ( my 5yr olds words) when the server abruptly brought them their ice cream dessert (it came with the kids meal). We were all shaking our heads about the weird service when My 7 yr old said “ usually the waitress says, are you ready for dessert?”I asked her to please take it away and bring it when she’s done eating. She finished eating and waited and waited and waited. To the point I called the manager and said the waitress hasn’t been back in a very long time…… I’m talking like 20 mins of my daughter saying “where is she? I want my ice cream now mama”.VERY DISAPPOINTED. And, more disappointed to have to say it about a local place and local people. The prices are high. It’s considered fine dining. But, it did Not live up to those standards tonight. 😞

I've visited the Glenora more than once and have been stunned by the beauty every time. It reminds me of a fairy tale with it trickling streams and beautiful foliage. We stayed in the Lodge and it was beautiful. The room was so spacious with more amenities than most, and huge comfortable bed. We loved being out on the wrap around balcony accessible from our room in the morning admiring the fall colors. The restaurant is pretty good, there was live music which was just ok but definitely gives you a cultural experience. The Distillery tour is free with your stay and very easy to co-ordinate. It's so worth it !!! It's so interesting, informative, and beautiful! Thanks!!!!

We visit Cape Breton every year and eating at the pub in Glenora is always a must on our trip. Food is always great - no matter what you get and service is friendly. On this trip we also did a tour of the distillery which is only 30 mins and very interesting. We did not stay at the inn but I gave it 5 stars just for the view and location.

Paid for the "normal" tour, which was posted as being 30 minutes, we were told 20 minutes after we paid, and after 11 minutes it was up and we were told to see ourselves back to where we started. When we told our "host" it seemed like a pretty thin tour he said it was because there were 30 people and somehow that made it hard. Nonsense, the tour was a joke and had nearly zero content. If it had been free perhaps it would be acceptable but not paid. Give the place a miss and go somewhere that will appreciate you.

Literally the best meal, I have ever had in Canada. I had the fish and chips. But replaced the fries with a garden salad. Coating on the fish wasn’t to thick and was cooked properly and perfectly. The garden salad and dressing was great. Their single malt scotch was excellent. I would come to Canada again, just to come here again. Didn't stay in a room , but if they are kept up as good as the rest of the place, they was be nice.

We decided to stay in the Chalet after a long day driving the Cabot Trail, upon arriving you pull into a beautiful property with a large archway and driveway that leads straight to the distillery. The building as well as the grounds itself are so magnificent that makes it seem you have hopped across the ocean to Scotland. We checked into our Chalet and were a little disappointed in the fact that the restaurant was only open seasonally which I feel they should state somewhere as there were not a lot of options open as we arrived just after 5pm.When we walked into the chalet we were immediately impressed as it was small but big enough for a couple and is super cozy. There is a wood fireplace to heat the chalet and a huge jacuzzi tub. Very nice spot for a couple. The next morning we walked onto the patio and was blown away by the view. Before checking out we did the tour of the distillery which is about 20 min. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, we wanted to leave with a bottle but it’s important to note that their cheapest available option is 80$ but is available at most liquor stores throughout the country. So if you want a bottle of whiskey that you can only get at the distillery you will be paying a pretty penny. The sales woman was a little pushy which can turn away most people. Other than that, I do think you are paying for the experience but I am glad I experienced it.

We were here only for a tasting of the whiskey. From the outside, the distillery actually reminded us of Scotland. The whisky is very good, although significantly more expensive than comparable whiskies from Scotland (at least compared to prices in Europe). The service was friendly, but reserved (maybe because we didn't order food?) Overall, some more information about the whiskies would have been nice. Still, definitely worth a visit.

We stopped here for dinner as the Red Shoe had a 90 minute wait. My son had the brisket poutine & we had the haddock and chips. Everyone loved what they had. Portions were generous. The homemade tartar sauce was fantastic. Def appreciated the attention to detail here. (I’m a veteran of many east coast tours and I’m always surprised by the number of places that hand you packaged tartar sauce. It kills the feeling of an authentic east coast experience.) Would def return.

Very pretty place! It is a nice stop when you are going to or coming from the cabot trail. Don’t stop if you have too much road ahead though…! Great whiskies and history, the flights are nice and the quality is definitely there. The shop is a bit expensive, but this is a premium, Canadian made product, worth the price in my opinion if you like whisky!

Good Morning,We stayed in one of the small cabins #10. We expected somewhat of a rustic feel but unfortunately this was a little too rustic. The fridge was frozen solid and the kitchenette was lacking in all areas and understocked. This put a huge damper in our stay especially for the price. Compared to our stays prior and after, this didn't hit the mark. If the Inn were to revisit these units they could overcome these shortcomings by updating the amenities in these cabins and creating a more warmer setting for future guests. For a one night stay this could be overlooked but typically when you rent a cabin up above for multiple nights, you would be disappointed.

As a whisky fan, I was perhaps influenced by the opportunity to spend a couple nights at a unique distillery on a beautiful site. Unfortunately the beauty of the surrounding Cape Breton area didn’t offset the disappointment with the accommodation. We had an “executive king” in the Glenview, which offered a beautiful view and very generous square footage, but lacked in some basic appointments: no towel racks in bathroom and no table to eat the modest continental breakfast of yogurt, granola, cheese, apple and juice (first day we weren’t provided cutlery or napkins). The mattress of the bed was terrible and offered no support (be careful if you turn in your sleep or you might roll off the bed). Not that we watch a lot of television when on vacation, but there was no reception on the first night, so it felt like we were in an expensive campsite. The dining service was a much more positive experience: great menu, attentive staff, plus access to the delicious Glenora liquids. Live entertainment provided a pleasant backdrop. Our second day included a troubling discovery: housekeeping staff had left the patio door to our room unlocked and open. Thankfully our belongings were still there, but our personal security was shaken. We enjoyed the distillery tour, shout out to Cecil. Our experience was perhaps more positive due to just 4 people in the group. Suggest that Glenora consider limiting size of the tour groups to permit more engaging and intimate conversation.Overall, I’d recommend Glenora for the dining and bar menu, but can’t endorse the accommodation. At $330 per night, it didn’t meet expectations.

**Glenora Distillery and Pub Review**I recently dined at Glenora Distillery and Pub, and while I had high hopes given their claim of being "one of Canada's top 100 restaurants" according to "Where to Eat in Canada," the experience fell short of expectations.Firstly, the ambiance was uncomfortable. Despite the cool 14°C weather outside, the air-conditioning was blasting inside, making it uncomfortably cold. We had to ask them to turn it off, which was an unnecessary inconvenience. We arrived early to take the distillery tour, but unfortunately, it had closed at 5 PM, which was a disappointment. For those planning a visit, make sure to check the tour times beforehand. The dining experience was underwhelming. They offered a Father's Day set menu that was oddly more expensive than ordering the items separately. This seemed quite strange and poorly thought out. Additionally, they ran out of the Blueberry Shortcake, which we were looking forward to trying. As for the food, my husband had the Lobster Mac & Cheese, and he described it as just okay. I had the ribs, which were tender but only saved by the Whiskey glaze. On a positive note, the salad was delicious. However, overall, the food did not match the high standards one would expect from a top-rated restaurant. In conclusion, I cannot recommend the dining experience at Glenora Distillery and Pub. While the setting and concept are appealing, the execution left much to be desired. With cold temperatures inside, a limited tour schedule, and food that did not live up to the hype, it was a disappointing visit.

Did the tour which was very fun. Enjoyed lunch with a flight of whisky. Calamari appetizer was great. My wife had fish and chips which was excellent. The ribs had the best sauce I ever had. Couldn’t convince them to give me the recipe. Jordan offered us excellent service.

Cool location, but overpriced for what you get. Worth a stop for a flight way by, but not worth the premium to stay there.
Charlotte C — Google review
We made a special effort to visit here, based on their website saying they do tours hourly from 9am to 5pm. We arrived at 3pm, but the woman in the shop said they were done with tours for the day, and the pub would be open later and that's where you can taste. They were not at all friendly, and when we said we were hesitant to buy anything without tasting it first, they did not budge or offer to let us taste even one whiskey. The attitude really felt like they just didn't care. We have been to MANY distilleries throughout the US and Scotland, and never been treated with such dismissal. BTW, we did an excellent tasting at Fils du Roy in New Brunswick, and their spirits are very good. I would recommend skipping Glenora and making the trip to Fils du Roy.

The hotel room we stayed in was very nice. It was exactly what was pictured on their website. It had a front door and a back door with patio which overlooked a stream of water. They had great continental breakfasts made up for us as well for the next morning. I really appreciated this and it was very tasty. The restaurant was nice, had great live music, food was ok and drinks weren't too bad. I'd recommend this place for a nice overnight destination. I would stay again.

Loved our stay at Glenora Inn & Distillery. Had dinner at their restaurant which was fantastic and included live music. I did find the whiskey's a little too high in price range for me but I am sure others wouldnt think the same. That being said I still bought a couple of bottles to bring home.
David G — Google review
Beautiful location, beautiful inn, wonderful service. We spent a lovely night at the Inn. They thought of everything in our room. Two luggage racks, two chairs, comfy bed, coffee, fridge, patio etc. We had a delicious meal in the pub and enjoyed the live music. A must for any trip to Cape Breton.

Staff were not accommodating. Not flexible to our needs. Scotch prices seemed high in light of the current competition. It was disappointing that there was no ability to taste their very expensive scotch.

Only did the whiskey tour. Worth the price. 20 minutes to see something unique. Could have done with more information personally. Nice to see the facilities and find out how it's done. Beautiful landscape and scenery.

Oh, this place is great! Nice exhibits. I didn't get the apparent obsession with rug hooking in Acadia until going through this place. It adds great context to everything around you. Foesn't take long to go through. Worth your time.

The Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site, located at the eastern edge of Baddeck, is a museum dedicated to the celebrated inventor's life and achievements. Visitors can view models of his work, mementos, and interactive exhibits showcasing his inventions including medical and electrical devices, telegraphs, telephones, kites and seaplanes. The site also features Bell's summer home Beinn Bhreagh which overlooks Baddeck Bay where he tested the Silver Dart aircraft.
I loved going here. The views alone were outstanding. I learned so much from reading about the Bells. Thank you for this eye-opening museum. I never knew the many inventions we're developed in this area.
General D — Google review
The place had a very nice gift and coffee shop. There were many amazing artifacts and exhibits. The history of Alexander and his inventions were displayed in an amazing way. Additionally, there were old airplanes hanging from the ceiling with their history displayed as well. The staff here were very nice and courteous.
Trip B — Google review
When you visit here don't be in a hurry. There is a lot to see and you can learn a lot if you read the information they are sharing. Mr. Bell was involved in many famous inventions.
Arnold M — Google review
Very educational tour, lots to learn and see. Great idea to bring children or school groups/tours. If you are in Nova Scotia, give it a look!"The site features artifacts donated in 1955 from the Bell family's personal museum. The site also features memorabilia associated with Bell's experiments, it contains the largest repository of artifacts and documents from Bell's years of experimental work in Baddeck."
Maria T — Google review
Don't pass this place without stopping in. The displays and information are very well done. Good job, Parks Canada.
Ernie K — Google review
Nice exhibits to study for an older youth or adult audience, but the exhibits and programming are really not suitable for younger audiences. Experiential learning and interactive displays are lacking, and it seems like a missed opportunity to teach our kids something about the physics and mechanics of some of the major inventions of Canadian history.
Markus B — Google review
Great museum to visit and learn more about the founder of the telephone and other ingenious inventions. Lots of parking spaces available and is a good rainy weather activity for the family. Unfortunately some exhibits were closed due to Covid, but overall it was an educational experience. Entrance fee is included as part of your Parks Canada pass.
May Z — Google review
As for myself, I enjoyed the Alexander Graham Bell historic museum, it was well decorated with history and interesting facts. The exhibits are quite large and detailed with lots of reading material. That said, I have two children and one found it quite boring. This is why I give it 3 stars, it may not be great for the whole family.
Quantifiable R — Google review
Nice place with lots if information on Bell inovations and personal life! Would take almost 3 hours to cover all parts.
Mahsa S — Google review
I would highly recommend a visit, and spend a couple of hours. Very informative, a lot of reading, with great displays to go with the "extensive" information. It says a great deal about the "Bell's" when there a is whole museum for them! I thought I knew a lot about Alexander Graham Bell when I went in, I have a particular interest in Canadian Aviation. There is SO MUCH, more to the man and his wife, which I did not know! I knew very little about the "other" contributions to our world, and to the amazing contributions to the "deaf"! I'm still thinking, trying to figure out how the "counter rotating" propeller system worked?? Ingenious! As the many of his other inventions! And I bet he really upset "Edison" and his phonograph, when Bell improved on it and actually made it work! It is well worth the visit! Make it a destination!
Gadjet R — Google review
Visiting from Toronto, the Alexander Graham Bell Museum was a must see for us. It did not disappoint! Very informative displays, lots of parking, and a low entry fee made it all a great experience.

Wow, this museum easily makes it into my top 10 list of places I've checked out in Canada. Seriously, the design is on point, the layout is spacious, and they've got these cool sections that just make sense. It's like a surprise waiting for you at every turn. But what really wowed me was how they set up those models in the big hall. Plus, they back it up with articles and videos that give you all the juicy info. Major shoutout to the awesome staff, too. They're all super friendly and ready to help.Oh, and don't even get me started on Baddeck, the place where this museum is based. It's like a hidden paradise. Thanks to this museum, I stumbled upon Baddeck, and now I'm telling you, if you're ever near Cape Breton, you absolutely have to swing by this sweet little village and check out this epic museum. I'm definitely coming back for more!

I've known about Alexander Graham Bell all my life and I feel ashamed that I did not realize his scope of influence and love of discovery. This museum pays homage to one of the greatest inventors of our time. It is a wonderful exhibit with full scale replicas and deep history kiosks. You can take your time and go through the exhibits at your own pace. It also showcases his wife and scientific partnerships that you may not have known. I was inspired by the exhibit and only wished I'd seen this when I was young!

Welcome to the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site, where you can find out if his brainwaves really were as revolutionary as his inventions. This place is like the ultimate time machine—if you want to step back and see where the magic of the telephone began, this is your spot. It’s not just a museum; it’s a celebration of all things Bell, from his pioneering spirit to the slightly quirky inventions he dreamed up.First off, the exhibits are so engaging, you might start questioning if Bell actually invented time travel instead of just the telephone. The Silver Dart, Bell’s pride and joy, looks so magnificent that you might feel the urge to ask for a selfie with it—just don’t try to take it for a spin. The aircraft might have been a marvel of its time, but I’m pretty sure it’s not quite ready for your cross-country vacation just yet.And let’s talk about the Parks Canada staff—these folks are as dedicated as Bell was to his work. They’ll give you all the deets, and probably make you laugh in the process. So, come for the history, stay for the stories, and leave with a newfound respect for anyone who can make the telephone sound as exciting as a superhero origin story.
Robert A — Google review
Very good overview of Bells' many interests and inventions. Could use more depth in theory of operation of items and hand on examples. Would have been great to see/hear/touch examples of the early telephone, telegraph, phono graph, air foil, etc. Great life size, rebuilt examples of airplane and hydrofoil

learn detailed information about life of Alexander Graham Bell and his family and personal life. How his inventor skills formed up throughout his life and how he put them to work on each corner point of his life, even his marriage to a hearing impaired girl. Museum is well designed but seemed a little small to me. I was expecting a bigger exhibition, however Location is an amazing choice. Great vista point. Building is designed with A frame large wood beams and you can see triangular shapes all over citing his usage of tetrahedron in his works. Site is surrounded with a wonderful garden and landscaping. I was expecting to see more of his personal belongings and literature. Also presentations should be improved and live presentations should be spiced up for young generation. Anybody below 30 will not show any interest on this kind of presentation

Nice place in Baddeck. Not very big. We arrived at 4:35pm, they closes at 5pm. Had enough time to see inside. We had a Discovery pass so didn't need to purchase $8.50 ticket. Garden outside is also nice with some view of fall colours in the season.

Really cool. Makes you appreciate the level of genius of Graham-Bell. It has tons of small items to review but also larger displays. It's also inexpensive.

Hovsep S — Google review
Alexander Graham Bell was a very interesting man who not only invented the telephone but had a heart for the deaf, and kites and much more… he kept detailed documentation of all his discoveries and inventions. This museum is a must see if you’re anywhere near it!

The Alexander Graham Bell Historic Site is a must-visit for anyone interested in the life and legacy of one of the most brilliant inventors in history. My visit to this museum was an enlightening and inspiring experience, as it meticulously showcases the timeline of Alexander Graham Bell’s life and his groundbreaking inventions. The exhibit starts with Bell’s early years, providing fascinating insights into his formative experiences and the inspirations that led him to his remarkable innovations. The timeline is exceptionally well-presented, with detailed descriptions and artifacts that bring his journey to life. What I found most captivating were the sections dedicated to his various inventions beyond the telephone, which he is most famous for. The museum highlights his work in aeronautics, hydrofoils, and hearing devices, reflecting the breadth of his genius. Interactive displays and models make the experience engaging and accessible, allowing visitors to grasp the significance of his contributions to science and technology. The personal stories and anecdotes interwoven throughout the exhibits added a human touch, painting a vivid picture of Bell not just as an inventor, but as a compassionate and curious individual. The dedication to presenting Bell’s work and life in such an educational and inspiring manner makes this museum stand out.Overall, the Alexander Graham Bell Historic Site offers a comprehensive and engaging look into the life of a man whose innovations have profoundly impacted the world. It’s an experience that leaves you with a deep appreciation for Bell’s ingenuity and a sense of wonder at the possibilities of human creativity and perseverance. Highly recommended for history buffs, technology enthusiasts, and curious minds of all ages!

It's one of the best and very well organised museums. Very informative collections about Dr. Alexander Graham Bell. A must see place in Beddeck.

Adult admission is $8.50. Senior is $7.00. Youth aged 17 and under enter for free. The admission prices include tax. Total cost for us was $25.50. There's a museum gift store. There are different sections of the museum that displays various things, such as his ideas, air creations, water creations, his teaching of the deaf, etc. There are theatre areas to watch short documentaries.Alexander Graham Bell taught deaf people the Visual Speech language that his father created. He created sheeps that would give birth to twins consistently. He created the first telephone. He created many toys. He made all sorts of prototypes of his experiments. He made the graphophone. He worked in aviation and aircraft experiments. He worked on a hydrofoil boat for the waters. He participated in all sorts of experiments. He conducted research on why some people live longer than others. He created organizations/associations for different things. He created his own laboratory. His wife Mabel Bell, also participated in his experiments and had a broad interests in many things as well. She gardened not for fun but for science as well. There are a collection of letters between Alec and Mabel. The letters show of their love.Very educational museum. Goes into a lot of history of mainly Alexander Graham Bell, but there are others as well. Anyone somehow remotely related with the inventor and scientist, is here. The replica of the Silver Dart sits here in the museum.Come here to learn the history of the inventor/scientist Alexander Graham Bell who contributed to Canada's advancement.

This museum offers a fascinating history of Alexander Graham Bell's extensive work. While I knew that he was the inventor of the telephone, I learned at this site (among other things) about his groundbreaking work with the deaf, his research into aviation, and his invention of the graphophone. If you are in the Baddeck area, this museum is definitely worth a visit.

Cape Breton Highlands National Park is a vast park known for its stunning mountain and ocean views, particularly along the famous Cabot Trail. This 948-square-kilometer park offers 26 hiking trails of varying difficulty levels and six beaches, making it an ideal destination to appreciate its forests, river canyons, and ancient cliffs overlooking the sea.
This is one of my all-time favourite places to visit. The camping here is incredible. The hiking amazing, and the views and geology stunning. There is so much to explore, I couldn’t cover it all in one review. Definitely check this place out. It is a gem for Nova Scotia. If you are going camping though, book early. This place books up really fast. Beaches are amazing as well.

Absolutely stunning. Over 20+ trails to choose from, easy to difficult and each trail is very difference. Lots of wildlife to observe during the right season, sea birds, eagles, hawks, bears, coyotes, moose, whales and fish. Absolutely must visit this beautiful national park.

It’s one of the most popular and famous places to visit in Nova Scotia. With lots of stunning, picturesque and scenic views, you can truly relax yourself while walking any trails. A number of great views can also be seen from your vehicle while driving along Cabot Trail: the beautiful scenic coastal drive.
Michael C — Google review
This national park is amazing. Part of the famous Cabot Trail, it’s hard to miss since you have to, at the very least, drive through on the Cabot Trail. The variety of ocean, mountains and boreal forest is simply astounding. The trail heads and hiking trails are well marked. They provide a terrific map that classifies the trail difficulty and show great spots to stop. The very famous Skyline Trail is a MUST. It’s an easy trail, family friendly and beautifully marked and maintained. And, photos do not do justice to the views. In addition the Skyline Trail passes through boreal forest where a research project is underway examining the impact of the local moose population on the forest. Pick your trail and your vista and enjoy. And, the drive is ablast…bring your jeep, convertible or motorcycle.

What a georgous drive this is.We stopped at many of the parks pull offs and did a couple trails. Big fan of the Lakeside trail. Especially on a windy rainy day. We saw seals riding in the waves. Sorry no picture. The birds and greenery were plentiful.Basic vc at Ingonish. The young ladies here seemed knowledgeable about the park they were working in.

Donelda's Puffin Boat Tour is well worth the money. I enjoyed it more than some whale watching tours I've been on. We saw thousands of birds including puffins, bald eagles and many others as well as many large seals.

I had a great time at Donelda’s Puffin Boat Tour! Donelda was very informative about the birds and very good at pointing them out to make sure you saw them all! The puffins were adorable!!! Bonus touch when she fed multiple bald eagles, super cool!!! Definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area :)
Nicole M — Google review
Very friendly staff, and they take their time to go around the islands to show the animals. We saw lots of seals, green herons, seagulls, shore birds and bald eagles. I am not giving 5 stars because they claim theirselves Puffing Boat tour and actually it is really hard to see them. We only saw one puffing in a 3 hours tour 300 meters away in the water. Otherwise the tour is fun for kids and highly recommend in a sunny day.

Donelda’s boat took us out to a nearby island inhabited only by birds. Donelda was very knowledgeable in birds and made sure everyone was able to spot them when she pointed them out. We saw bald eagles, puffins, razorbills, seals, blue herrings, and many other shore birds during our tour.

Loved, loved, loved this tour! We went to several places while on Cape Breton and this was by far my favourite. The lady guiding the tour works so incredibly hard, I hope she knows how much her grit and kindness is appreciated! We saw eagles, puffins, razorbills, cormorants, seals, and numerous other sea birds. We felt super safe on the boat and it was easy to board.

Incredible experience! Don’t miss this unique experience- we went out to islands full of puffins, bald eagles, and more! You won’t believe how close we get to the bald eagles who swoop into the boat to take mackerel! Being from New England, we have been on whale watch tours and other tours, but this is truly unique! Very personal narration given by the owner of the boat who has been offering these tours for 30 years. Support a local woman-owned business and learn about local Wildlife!

You either reserve a spot online or you go to the small building and buy the tickets on the spot. You park on the side of the highway. It's really windy. It's a cloudy day with some sun, with 60% chance of rain. There are public washrooms back where the ferry is at (where you cross over to go to Englishtown), in a white building. You can take off the windows to get a better view of the world beyond the windows. It's hard to hear what Donelda, the tour guide is saying. Very loud boat sounds. Need to strain to hear what she is saying. She talks about how to use the lifejackets, history of the boat, history of a harbour (?), history of something (wasn't able to make it out). The body of water we're traveling in.The boat rocks back and forth, side to side.Talking about the different birds that live or can be found out in the ocean and area. Birds the prey on the Puffins. Aggressive birds. Mini penguin. Facts and description of what a Puffin is.She tells us a story of 2 bald eagles that hover over her head as she got the fish out to throw it into the water. She named the birds Mr. and Mrs. Charlie. She threw out 2 fishes and we watched the bald eagles fish up the fish. Seeing bald eagles fly around. There are a lot of bald eagles on the shoreline. Seeing the bald eagle catch the fish up close. Some seagulls are flying around and above us as well.Saw seals. Saw all sorts of birds and the Puffins. Great Blue Herons. Gulls. The predator of the Puffins.Donelda is informative and knowledgeable. Her husband is the captain of the boat and drives it. The boat ride to the rocky islands where we saw lots of different birds was great.$60 adult admission. Total admission cost is $189.75. We had 3 people. They only accept cash because they don't have the credit/debit machine. They said that they'll get one soon. Total time spent was 2 hrs and 30 mins.We enjoyed our boat ride to see the different birds. We recommend that you do the boat tour.

What a great experience! Loved every minute of it. I've never seen so many birds all at once, such as bald eagles, razorbills, cormorants, etc. You'll definitely see puffins and tons of them. They're small and always on the move, so you'll need a good camera to capture a decent picture of them. You will also see a lot of seals. They were pretty much everywhere. Make sure you take extra layers. It can get windy. And such lovely tour guides!
